Gods damn, preach. There’s not much I have to add here.
I am well and truly tired of waiting. With a less than 10k daily pop for SEVERAL months in a row it’s very clear the game has no intention of being complete either. What’s worse - every single game since 4 has had to play catch up with its core features! In mainline titles! Come ON now!!
Is Halo Infinite dead to all players = No
Is Halo Infinite dead to most PC players = Yes
Is Halo Infinite lacking in Content = Yes
Is Halo Infinite Campaign Free for Game Pass or Ultimate Players = Yes
Is Halo Infinite Multiplayer Free to play = Yes
Is Halo Infinite more for Halo 3 and Halo Reach fans = Yes
Mmm I could go on and on but I figured you get the point.
I could deal with the drip-feed content like it was with H5, but they couldn’t even get the basics in a Halo game going like Co-Op, and what other content have they added in the last 7-8 months now?
See I almost LIKED the drip feed in 5, because there WAS always something to look forward to. But here? NAH! AIN’T A DAMN THING half the time! What do we have?
Half-baked events?
Forge and co-op AN ENTIRE YEAR LATER?
Why was this game released a year early? I mean I KNOW why but, my Gods! Imagine if it had released in 2020 as intended! YIKES!!
I think people love to latch on to the word dead literally. It is being used as a sensational term. It’s an exaggeration but like people exclaiming 4, MCC or 5 as dead, it’s ‘dead’ in the sense it’s far less alive and active than a series like ‘Halo’ should be experiencing.
The game doesn’t need to be Fortnite 2.0 to argue that if it was good, and didn’t have all those issues, it could of held a captive audience far larger than it does currently, to the tune of 5x-10x.
Because the servers are offline and people aren’t willing to bring them online for a couple of matches unlike 2,3 and reach and mcc is there for people who want to play 4 but don’t want to do what the fans of thr older games did
Mcc on the otherhand i haven’t seen people say its dead after it was fixed
Halo 5 still has customs
matchmaking tends to kill itself after you play a while for some reason
Funny how infinite is starting to make halo 5 look good in retrospect like as someone who hates it i started bringing up things i liked about it and defending parts of it when talking about infinite’s multiplayer
Most players have MCC in their libraries.
MCC, five years after launch, is finally playable.
Halo Infinite, like MCC, had a troublesome launch.
Players would rather go with the more complete package, regardless of the game that is 1/8 complete being Free-To-Play.
Because most of the player base is now in Halo MCC and not in Halo Infinite, MCC is going to have MTX added to it because 343 Industries owes more than $500 Million back to Microsoft (Infinite’s budget is estimated to be around $500m. Microsoft will want that money back PLUS some level of profit made.).
Perhaps next year Halo Infinite will be a much more complete package? We are finally getting Co-Op, Forge, and an unwanted Battle Royale mode instead of Firefight.
We can only hope.
I think Infinite has likely reached a bit if a player base plateau. What’s unfortunate is my guess is that it’s happened faster than H5 did. It’s probably better than H4 though tbh. I think there’s also a higher potential for soft “relaunching” of Infinite to get players back than H4 and H5 had.
Forges official commercial release, the first major single player DLC drop, a big PvE mode release, and the BR mode are all possibilities to “relaunch” the game and get back a lot of players.
This would be a great thing to say pre-release, but since the game is already out and playable, can we please stop with this “Just accept the lackluster stater of this game. Shut up and be happy,” mentality? Why are people so willing to bend over when corporate gaming companies crap out an awful product for the fans.
God no, I don’t like when people do that, people have a right to be angry, and lord knows I’ve gotten upset at this game myself. But at the same time, there is a point of excess for EVERYTHING.
