Infinite aiming is just too tough. Went from 1.6 KDA to 0.8 KDA in Infinite

I’m not going to say I am amazing but after 20 years and a KDA of 1.6 in Halo 2A and MCC, it is absolutely discouraging to literally suck a giant -Yoink!- in Infinite.

It is pretty clear the game has become Call of Duty in space.

The ability to aim in this game is so -Yoink!- difficult, and the fact that you die so -Yoink!- fast is just beyond frustrating. This is why I stopped playing Call of Duty which was for the very same reasons. I would die so f-ing fast I wouldn’t know where it even came from That has become the case with halo Infinite.

Also, for F’sakes the controls in this game or disgusting. Granted, I play controller on PC but I’ve been doing that for MCC for two years with absolute ease.

It’s just not fun especially when you are getting your f-ing -Yoink!- beat and going negative game after game.

Have you tried adjusting your settings?

Yeah, aiming in this game is far more difficult than other Halo games. The erratic strafing and movement is why. Other Halo games had momentum when strafing, making it possible to predict movement. This game has zero momentum, making it more difficult.

Blame Strafe speed and close to 0 Aim assist and Bullet Mag for Controllers.
But the main culprit has got to be Strafe speed.

People can strafe so fast that you just can’t train your reticule on them fast enough, even for MKB.

It’s almost like every console FPS has aim assist for a reason.

I also use controller on PC and think we probably have best of both worlds re aim assist and FPS, but aim assist is definitely reduced on Infinite. Personally prefer it but I can see why it can be frustrating and it definitely feel like the AA disappears entirely once your shields pop - becomes very difficult at short range and leads to loads more trades.

That said; I’ve never understood using K/D to argue this point. Firstly, if you are losing then someone else is winning so their K/D is improving. Secondly, SBMM and MMR should mean that everyone is trending towards a K/D of 1. First few days I was up at 1.8-2 but now am about 1.2 as I’ve climbed up in ranked and got closer to ‘my level’

You don’t really die all that much faster in this, if you do it’s usually down to the headshot multipliers killing you that much quicker. Still, there is an aiming issue in the (weakest it’s ever been ) aim assist being wildly inconsistent and sometimes outright absent, can’t adjust to that.

I’ll use the accuracy stat then. In Halo 5 I averaged a 56% accuracy. In Infinite I’m at 33%. That tells you everything you need to know.

I disagree. The kill window is way shorter in Infinite and I would argue comparable to Call of Duty’s instant kills. There are several one shot kill weapons now in Infinite. No skill is needed if they don’t see you. Boom you are dead.

Then you will be shocked to know that optimal ttk for the BR is the same in infinitr as it was in H3.

Yup, aiming feels off. I don’t know why - can’t seem to find the right controller settings - something isn’t right.

That’s a horrible argument. Halo CE-5 had the shotgun which could one shot, we’ve always had snipers and other power weapons that can one shot, and we even have new weapons that can one shot. Them being in the weapon sandbox doesn’t make the TTK smaller, and it certainly doesn’t make it anywhere comparable to a Call of Duty game where it’s near instant death. You look at basic weapons (starters) and judge it by average off of that, meaning the Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, and Sidekick. All of which have a fairly high TTK unless your target is standing still or strafing terribly. You can’t strafe in Call of Duty to give an average offset for TTK.

No it isn’t. The aim controls are straight up just different.
