Infection Wish List

Infection has been a great deal to the halo universe to for many years now. There is a lot of creativity with forgers, a lot of fun with friends in customs and several other reasons infection can’t be a let down.

For forgers and custom gamers the amount of settings is vital in making maps and having fun.
I hope someone from 343 reads this, as a forger and customgamer I would like to see the following settings:

Four player types in infection:

  • Alpha Zombie: Those who start the round as infected - Infected: Those who got killed by the Alpha Zombie or other infected - Survivers: Those who did not get killed by the Alpha zombie(s) - Last Man Standing: The one person who is the final surviver

1) Invisablity Player Trait Settings
1.1) Being able to: Enable/disable invisibility on all four player types
1.2) Being able to: Enable/disable invisibility getting turned off while walking
1.3) Being able to: Set a timer of when the invisibility turn on
1.4) Being able to: Set a timer of when the invisibility turn off

2) Shield/damage/health Player Trait Settings
2.1) Being able to set different Shield traits on each player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
2.2) Being able to set different Health traits on each player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
2.3) Being able to set different damage dealing traits on each player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
2.4) Being able to set different damage accepting traits on each player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
2.5) Being able to set damage dealing to 0 on each player type
2.6) Being able to set damage acceptingto 0 on each player type
2.7) Being able to set the Health/Shield Vampirism and the ability to make it go back up when a player gets kills. (submitted by: RushMyPancake)

3) Becoming Infected
3.1) Being able to: Enable/disable the option to let Survivers turn into Infected when betrayed (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
3.2) Being able to: Enable/disable the option to let Survivers turn into Infected when comiting suicide (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
3.3) Being able to: Enable/disable the option to let Survivers turn into Infected when betraying other players (submitted by: DemonizedFox02)

4) Weapon/Vehicle Pick Ups
4.1) Being able to: Enable/disable weapon pick ups on all 4 players types
4.2) Being able to: Enable/disable grenade pick ups on all 4 players types
4.3) Being able to: Enable/disable vehicle pick ups on all 4 players types
4.4) Being able to: Set certain weapons to only be able to be picked up by a certain player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
4.5) Being able to: Set certain vehicles to only be able to be picked up by a certain player type (submitted by: RushMyPancake)

5) Colour Changes/Infection Aesthetics
5,1) Being able to: Pre-set the colours of any of the 4 player types
5.2) Being able to: To change the infected and Alpha Zombie to “Flood Spartan” model (submitted by Orcaman15)
5.3) Being able to: Enable/disable the ability of infected to create flood/screaming/infected noises by pressing down on the D-pad (submitted by: Eleventh Sniper)

6) Spawning
6.1) Being able to: determine where every of the 4 player types spawn
6.2) Being able to: select different spawns per round for each of the 3 player types

7) Alpha Zombie Selection
7.1) Being able to: determine what determines the Alpha Zombie in the next round (highest kills, random, ect.)
7.2) Being able to: determine the starting amount of Alpha Zombies Each Round

8) Scoring
8.1) Being able to: Set the scoringpoints for last man standing
8.2) Being able to: Set the scoringpoints for surviving an round
8.3) Being able to: Set the scoringpoints for standing in a safe haven (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
8.4) Being able to: Set a scoring limit per round (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
8.5) Being able to: Create different rounds and score on surviving each rounds
8.6) Being able to: make squads and score as last squad standing

9) Placable Objects
9.1) Being able to: Place safehavens (submitted by: RushMyPancake)
9.2) Being able to: Place flood typed blocks in forge
9.3) Being able to: Spawn Flood AI in forge
9.4) Being able to: Place Covenant typed blocks in forge

10) Lives per round
10.1) Being able to: Set lives per round per each player type
10.2) Being able to: Enable/Disable the option to get a certain amount of lives back from killing the enemie per player trait

11) Movement Player Trait Settings
11.1) Being able to: set the speed for any of the four player types to above 100
11.2) Being able to: set the speed for any of the four player types to 0
11.3) Being able to: Enable/Disable Smart Link for each of the four player types (submitted by: Eleventh Sniper)

12) Scripting
12.1) Being able to: Script kill boundries

13) Weather Effects
13.1) being able to change the weather effects in forge to: Toxic Rain (Green Rain)
13.2) being able to change the weather effects in forge to:Thunder (Thunder noices added)

I think options to:

  • Turn players into zombies when betrayed (TOGGLE) - Turn players into zombies when commiting suicide (TOGGLE) - Ability to allow zombies to pick up weapons, but only specified ones or none (if you choose to in settings) - Better ability to chose how scoring works: Scoring in intervals, scoring in safe havens, amount of points to end the round. - Percent/Number of Alpha Zombies - Safe Havens - Last Man Standing Traits - (Including the ability to change the last man standing’s weapon to whatever you choose) - Time Limit Options - E.G. Where the time needed for survivors to win increases/resets when a survivor is infected. - Option to set each class’ ability to drive vehicles (or certain vehicles). - Health/Shield Vampirism and the ability to make it go back up when a player gets kills.With the spawning options you requested, you can already determine where every of the three player types spawn. Defender Spawn/Respawn = Survivor. Attacker Spawn = Alpha Zombie. Attacker Respawn = Normal Infected / Zombie.

I’ve played infection before where all players are invisible and its definitely not fun at all; its just a really stale way to play infection.

I am talking about the option to toggle it off and on in custom games/ forge

I was honestly thinking that I would find some 12 year old wanting things that would never come like “add a godzilla mode and ai and pokemon toys”, but this is a well constructed and plausible wishlist nice!

DUDE I FORGOT ABOUT ICE CREAM MAN, I loved that gamemode so much! 100% going to be the one to make it in Halo 5 :slight_smile:

I hope we can disable Smart Link on the infected so they don’t get that huge range boost with the sword. That may come with the green blade though.

We should have as many options as possible, as it may create some fun minigames as well.

The ability to turn on automatic infection to a player who betrays.

I’ll always remember how much fun Reach infected was, I’m really excited to see it make a comeback!

I just thought of something that would be really silly, but cool at the same time…

In multiplayer, down on the d-pad does nothing. What if, for Infection, there was a custom option that would map a shrill screaming noise to that button if you’re infected? To prevent people from spamming it, it would have a ten second cooldown.

I think the apex of Infection customization was in Halo Reach, although I didn’t play much H2A. I also enjoyed H3’s customs more than Reach.

There definitely needs to be a unique zombie colour if the survivors get their own armour colours.

Having the option of adding a “Flood Spartan” model for the infected would be good for Machinima.
Just as long as they can change their weapon like in H2A. Cause last I checked the Flood can totally use firearms.

According to Tom French, this isn’t totally out of the question. (He tweeted this at some point, IIRC)

But according to the same tweet, this isn’t going to be in at the mode’s launch.
