Infection Warzone

Hello All

I love all of the zombie game modes in halo, but it overall seems too small. so I was thinking, what if there was an infection warzone? it would be easy, we have the maps and the req system, what if they simply added AI zombies and had a survival warzone sort of game? I’d like to hear what you all thought about this, please let me know, I’d love to hear your ideas.

my current ideas for this gamemode:

  • works like normal infection, if you die, you join the zombies
  • AI Zombies (Possibly flood) to start with, all players start as humans and have the same access to everything
  • Vehicles have limited ammo and or fuel
  • zombies drop non universal ammo (each ammo goes to a specific weapon, does not effect req weapons, A saw uses the same ammo as an answer, sniper uses the same as a nornfang, ECT.)
  • new maps specific to this gamemode (Close quarters & indoor maps)
  • add infected energy sword to the req system

Edit:
I was thinking it over, and this game seems a little unbalanced, so I was thinking that if it was more like the standard warzone with two opposing teams with zombies thrown in, then it would be a bit more balanced.

  • If you die from another human 3 times, you turn into a zombie, but if you die from a zombie once no matter what, you’ll join the zombies
  • at the end of the time limit, the team with the most players wins, if tied it goes off of score
  • There could also have a free for all game mode.

I don’t think Infection would work with the REQ system. The whole point is to have limited ammo for the engagement. The REQ system would make it so that players could refill or choose a different weapon whenever they run out. Also Warzone maps being so big would work against the zombies to start, as the victory condition for survivors is surviving until the time runs out. This would be much easier if the starting zombies were AI, as AI are easier to trick and juke compared to human players. If you go changing the WZ maps to make them close quarters/indoors/smaller, then what’s the point of having WZ Infection at all?

These are very good points, thank you for pointing them out, maybe in this gamemode you couldn’t buy ammo for the weapons.

As for the big maps, possible having something like flood zombies as AIs, some that can transform into flying flood such as in halo wars one would make it more difficult to dodge and having to watch the sky and the ground would make it more difficult for the survivors.

AI zombies aren’t meant to be very smart or strong, and would be easy to trick or juke as you said, but only in small numbers. Having a lot of them can overwhelm the survivors, especially if they’re as fast as human zombies. I find myself having moderate difficulty with flood in campaign, even in co-op, not because they’re strong, or smart, but because theres so many of them

as for the “Close quarters, indoors & smaller maps”, I did not say smaller, I was thinking something like the Cortana mission in halo 3, something that’s large, but tight, where theres not a lot of room to move around, but a lot of enemies to surround you.

once again, thank you for your thought, I guess I needed to put a little bit more thought into my plan, if you have any more ideas, please let me know
