I get that there are multiple objectives in infection, killing zombies, surviving, infecting people etc.
But there are too many instances were I have 2x a players kills but they have way more than 1/2 my points. Somebody getting the last man kill, or surviving a three minute round should not be worth the same as 5-7 kills as a human. In halo reach you got 1 point for last man, and 1 point for survival. I feel like this is how it should be.
If I win with 30 kills and 200 points and someone with 15 kills has 190, then I’m not going to be too annoyed because I won the game, but I still feel cheated that I had to do so much more work. But recently I have been losing games to people with less kills than me, and the last game I played, somebody with 13 kills beat me when I had 26.
You can say I’m just mad because surviving (by camping in overpowered spots with 5 other humans) is more skillful than roaming around the map getting kills and being targeted by everyone. But I have enough games now to confidently say the scoring is completely broken and needs to be re-worked.
It should be more like this:
5 points - human kill
10 points - zombie kill
10 points - lms
10 points - survival
10 points - flatline (why do you get 35 points for this?)
As much as like the scoring system, I do agree with you. There have been a few games I played where I won by accident. I would hide out in some forsaken corner and wait. Eventually, everyone would die and I’d be the last man standing. Get an overkill, and I’m now up 45 points. Do that for four rounds, and I’ve got 180 points.
Winner. Oops.
I quite like the way it works. Though I’ve actually only won one game of infection… and I’ve had a decent run as last man standing but lost lol. I don’t play infection for my wins, it’s real fun!
I was actually just thinking about making a thread on this. It pisses me off when I get 30 kills and lose to a guy that was lucky enough to have killed the last man standing twice.

complaining about an unranked playlist is not constructive.
that’s like saying there’s too many trees in Minecraft.

I agree. The trees in Minecraft ARE a problem. 343 is owned by Microsoft, which also owns Minecraft. Pass it up the chain for us please.
As disappointed I as am with it… 343 have other things to worry about like making lame MS Paint skins and observing noobs beat each other on the ‘champions stage’.
They don’t listen to the majority who point out the mistakes they forget to fix, they only listen to their ‘pro-team’ if they are not to busy bloating about how good they are they’d maybe pick up on these issues too. Or is infection to noob-ish for them? They probably never played it. I’m sorry but 343 need to get their priorities changed.
I remember when I lost to a guy who hid under a bridge for the last two rounds whilst I got 6-7 kills in my spot being swarmed. Then again, Infection is about survival not really getting the higher kill count…
I agree, I lost several games at the last moment because a player with fewer kills than me go the flatline in the 4th round and covered a 30 point gap with one kill. I can understand why killing the last man is worth more points, but perhaps they can split it up. For example: assisting would get you 10 points and killing the last man would get you 15. If a player strikes twice and kills the last man all by himself then he gets 25 points, which I think is reasonable. 35 is just too much.
Now I’m not saying that I’ve only been victim to this. I have won a few games by mainly scoring all flatlines in the game.
