How does this make any sense? It makes sneaking around the map while infected completely redundant. It also makes surviving a round FAR easier than in previous titles.

Well, the Spartans have access to all abilities, so I’m sure the zombies will have a fast walking speed, not to mention - the lunge on the energy swords is huge.

And this is why Waypoint has rules…
To the OP, I think it might still work considering the maps are smaller with less nooks and crannies. It might play out as a more aggressive standoff rather than a cat and mouse game, which makes me sad yet curious.
