So now we have all had a chance to play infection does anybody feel it needs a bit of tweaking? For me there are some crazy good camp spots that seem a bit unfair on the zombies, more specifically the pistol spawn room near the middle of the map on R.I.Ptide, the “Whale” area and the whale itself on Backwoods, the underground room on the powerstation map that you can melee a box into both entrances , the yellow room with bars on nerve center with shotgun ammo are probably the four worst offenders. Obviously you expect people to form up and camp, but these places seem a bit over powered.
Im having loads of fun with infection and it has definitely made Halo 5 a game me and my friends play regularly again, so congratulations to 343 on the best update yet.
I do feel maybe the mode should spawn with 3 alpha zombies though because once the team is organized into one of the camp spots its near impossible to infect anyone and is rather tedious for the alpha, especially when its my turn to be the zombie, and the other alpha zombie goes afk for the entire turn or leaves ( before in Reach if an alpha left it would just select a random human member to be a zombie right? in halo 5 this doesnt happen so you are basically screwed if you are the only zombie)
Thats my only really complaint with the mode, otherwise i actually think they did a good job.
I’m loving infection at the moment and have noticed all of the points that you have mentioned. But I think they are all stoppable, it usually requires speed on the Alpha zombies part, especially for stopping the entrance blocking on power station, and in R.I.P tide etc. I tend to find being the last man standing is easier when this happens as they are area’s everybody focus’s on going, when you can be somewhere completely different on the map.
I’ve never had the other alpha zombie leave though. So can’t comment on that really, sounds crap. Losing 50% of your team is never good!
It doesnt happen often but every now and then someone who was just playing as a human spawns as the alpha zombie with in the next round and they just seem to AFK the entire round and start playing again as soon as they are a human again. Sometimes they just out right quit , and then you are a single zombie vs the entire human team. When they are organised in those overpowered places it can be quite a drag for the next 3 minutes of being killed over and over and over haha. Its not so bad when you get a few people wandering around on their own though, at least you can try and pick them off.
I have noticed people stop playing when they become a zombie. I personally think it’s fun to be a zombie just as fun as it is to try and survive, but clearly not everyone does. I haven’t seen any spots that are impossible for the zombies to overtake. All in all I think it’s an incredibly balanced game type, with the advantage being with the infected.
The whale was taken out and also that tree spot
