Infection Map: Mortal Coil

'Ello there. I’ve been working on an Infection map for a few months now, doing heavy testing and such. It’s finally ready for a public release. I present to you:

Mortal Coil

If you wanna check out some screenshots of the map, I’ve set up a screenshot viewer on the Reaching Perfection forums. If you’re more into prose than pictures, you’ll find plenty of that in the map’s ForgeHub thread.

The map plays best with Alpha Zombies, and 8 or more players. Feel free to give it a download and lemme know what you think. :slight_smile:

Just wanted to stop by and state that Cobb is IMO one of the best infection map designers out there. He loves the gametype and puts his heart and soul into his designs. This is definitely worth your time to look at if you enjoy infection at its finest.

Also can you use it with your exposed gametype?

Mortal Coil was designed and tested for Alpha Zombies, not Exposed, so I don’t know how well it would play with Exposed. You’re certainly welcome to try the two out if you’d like, though. :slight_smile:

Mortal Coil occupies roughly a quarter of the space used by Hemorrhage; it’s big, but not BTB-big. South-to-north, it goes from the “nose” of Shark Ridge almost to the boundary wall behind Hemorrhage’s Red Base. East-to-west, it stretches from the Montaska gap almost to the western cliffs of the Canyon.

Ahaha, Serious Shark was really creative, I’m finding for starting up a infection lobby with this map, it looks very promising.

Did you ever manage to get that lobby going? If not, maybe I can arrange something sometime.

Speaking of which, an update for the map, to improve balance off toward the east side behind the two buildings, is being tested right now. I hope to have it out soon.

A balance update has been released! The east side of the map behind the two buildings is harder for Humans to hold now, and the cliff perch has had a one-way ramp added.

Unless serious issues are discovered, this will likely be the final update to the map.

Cobb I’ve got the update queued I’mma do a flythrough tonight if there’s nobody on- I have a hunch Skyrim will have eaten my friends- I’ll leave some feedback when I finish. I still love this map man. You make really sick infection stuff.
