How come Halo 5 Infection is just bad luck for me. I’ve gotten really good at it but some times it just messes me over. An example of this is when i shoot the infected they just dont die and i get my first place taken away. What also doesn’t make sense is when i aim as an infected player after i lunge it NEVER WORKS! I also hate is when the survivors shotgun beats my infected energy sword even though i swung before the survivor. Please do something about this
Probably just bad luck. I’ve noticed some days the hit detection is sort hit, miss. Sometimes I’ve seen people lunge through walls that should be impossible and in some cases lunges that oddly don’t seem to do anything then some attack with insane long distance lunges that don’t make sense.
Shotgun almost always beats the sword. Best-case scenario is the shotgun misses or you trade. Weird lunging distances and “misses” have to do with objects changing the trajectory of the lunge ever so slightly. So instead of lunging straight forward like usual, if some object is in the way, it could shift your lunge angle upward slightly, causing you to miss the swing once you get to the Spartan.
Seemingly impossible lunge distances are a result of the fact that if you’re in the sword’s red reticle range for even a split second and it’s swung, it’ll close the gap no matter what (provided no object gets in its path). So while you may have thought you were out of its range, you were actually on the very edge of its range when it was swung. Combine that with the likelihood that you were backing up at the same time and you get the makings of a sword lunge that looks impossible.
I just think you need to put more practice into the game, or it could be your connection keeping your shots from registering properly. I suggest a couple videos on Infection Guides by Eagle Precursor or just watching infection content to get a better idea on what exactly is going on within the game.

Where are you playing? It sounds like you have connection issues. Can you please show some film of what you are talking about?
