Infection: explicitly gametype not matchmaking

Simply put, most of the requests for Infection regard the gametype, and explicitly the gametype. Most of the people that I know and have come across couldn’t care less about matchmaking implementation. If you couldn’t care less about Infection, please stop polluting those related threads with your comments about how you don’t want to or won’t play it, and how unimportant you think it is; it would seem that it doesn’t affect those naysayers anyway but they just keep on ‘saying’. Again, to put it simply, people want the GAMETYPE for Forge/Customs. We are in need of the ability to create and recreate the social game modes that set Custom Gamers apart from those that play Matchmaking. Now…I’m sure people will revert to deflecting the conversations back to Matchmaking, but I sure hope people can stay on topic about the gametype itself when it’s mentioned, and worry about Matchmaking after we have a gametype to play. All of that being said, 343i we are indeed waiting patiently for even the slightest bit of evidence or confirmation of the existence of the Infection gametype. We don’t even need specifics about dates and such, just something as simple as Halo 5 + Infection = True.

I have a feeling that the January update is going to address the lack of gametypes so far. It’s the only legitimate issue with the game right now, and with the release of Forge last month it only feel natural to have the next update be gametypes.

I’m having the same problem with Halo 5 that I was with Halo: MCC, it’s going to take to long for them to fix it that it won’t be worth it by the time they do

When MCC launched I was ready to spend days remaking all the fun custom games I had built up over the years in Halo 3 and 4. But when it launched Halo 3 forge was broken, you could not make game specific maps. This meant that most games had to be played with honor rules which rarely worked in large lobbies. It took so long for them to get the game stable enough to even have custom games and then even longer to make forge work that by the time they did me and my friends had all moved on. We were all hoping that Halo 5 would be different.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this game. It is perfect as an arena game. Sure the campaign has its flaws, but the game feels flawless. Weapons are balanced, maps feel smooth (mostly), I have no complaints about things that are in the game.

With Forge not being in at launch I was the only one in my little circle of friends who actually picked up Halo 5 day one, everyone else had no reason to as the main reason they played was for custom games. But now that forge is out it is still a massive letdown for most of my friends because we cannot play the games we want, and all because of some gametypes.

I don’t care if the gametypes are balanced, I don’t care if the infected look like zombies or not, I don’t care if Grifball is a gametype or if I need to make it assault. I just want the basic gametypes.

In the old games we had to use the simple tools to create the complex gametypes that we did, now they try to give us the complex tools and we can’t even create the simple stuff. This is something that I saw in Halo 4 and has only gotten worse in Halo 5.

Enough of my rant. Just give us our gametypes.
