INFECTION. ET TU BRUTE?

For some reason, while was playing infection, I got the et tu brute message and got kicked from the game. Can someone tell me why?

Are you asking what that message means? If yes, that’s the message you get when you betray your teammates too many times.

Yeah you betrayed two teammates. Maybe you ran them over. Maybe they were next to an explosive and you shot at it and killed them both.

Betraying teammates. Probably by splatter or explosive if I had to guess since FF is turned off I believe.

Betrailing teammates. Et tu, brute? is an expression used for unexpected betrail from friends or friendlies, it was the last words of Julius Caesar when he was being stabbed to death by Brutus, his friend.

That’s interesting. You must know quite a lot about history.

Yes, I know what it means and who said it. But normally you can’t kill teamates, even with a splatter or explosion/SC

And I didn’t kill no-one, maybe someone just up and reported me for no reason?

I dont think thats how it works, I know that at least in halo 4 the person you betrayed gets a ‘vote’ to kick you out and I think its ihe same in halo 5

Personally I have never kicked people out of matches because having one person less is usualy kinda bad for your whole team, I report via the gamercard itself if it turns out to be really bad

Wasn’t it Shakespeare’s work though? In the play “Julius Caesar”? I’m pretty sure it means “Even you, Brutus?”

Yes, the quote comes from Shakespeare. Now people think it’s history—nobody knows if Julius Caesar said anything other than “Oh $&%@“ when he got 86ed.

Yeah, or the Latin equivalent

I got it resolved. Explosive plus Arclight doesn’t mix well

Thanks Spartans
