Infection discussion for H4

I spent alot of time in customs so i really like infection, and often simple game options are the best thing for a infection game to work, id really like to get a discussion going on future options of H4 infection.

A few ideas i have:

Infection spawn group. On alot of maps a big herd of zombies is fun and sometimes neccessary to balance the humans vs zombies. I think it would be really cool if zombies could spawn on each other like invasion did, that way zombies would stick together. Its also alot more fun when you got a buddy to spawn on instead of walking across an entire map.

Halo 3 invisibility function needs to come back. Ghostbusters, predator, etc just dont work well because if you move it makes you invisible (promoting camping and slow game).

Instant kill overriding invinciblity. In so many games, such as halo on halo, or other games where there is a 1 v rest situation, the one will just commit suicide to prevent the other group from killing it. There needs to be an invincibility option so it cant kill itself, but also an instant kill so when they DO get there the zombie can be killed.

Zombie %age numbers needs to come back for big/small lobbies.

Zero bloom option. I always wanted a high ROF headshot only weapon for infection, like the halo 2 pistol. I just think these function best for infection.

The option to make a game similar to the Walking Dead tv show. We probably already have it, im just not creative enough to make it. But i think something like this (zombies move in packs, moving slow, limited ammo, dangerous to make noise and shoot, beatdowns encouraged for quietness, dangerous travelling, etc) would be awesome.

Thats all the ideas i have so far, i just wanted to spark some discussion for infection. If you guys would post some ideas i think it would be awsome. Does anyone know how if you can still upload maps to fileshare then ppl see them from their comps?

I really hope they do enhance Infection this time around.

It hasn’t really changed much from Halo 3 to Reach.

If Halo is evolving, then Infection should evolve with it.

Yup, i really want a map devoted to infection just like they have specialized ones for btb and objective. I made a fatkid like gametype on breakneck, all of the hallways connected perfectly. It was just a little too vertical, although the best default zombie map imo. The only problem was no one ever had the dlc of it.

A map like the odst city would be SICK. Dont open the all the rooms, but maybe make some passage ways to different parts of cities.

I think waypoint will up-date in the summer for fileshare.

I’d hope that Infection gets some love this time around, I’m not saying Infection wasn’t fun in Reach, but without the proper Custom Maps it wasn’t all that much fun when compared to Halo 3…

…It’d be kind of Enraging if they did the same in Halo 4…this may be a tad overkill, but I’d rather they not bother with Infection in Halo 4 if they’re not going to bring in the Custom Maps for it…

Yup, little things like round not ending when zombies are dead, or how if someone joins a game in progress they get different traits and infinite lives, little things like that were ignored and hindered infection greatly…

No more maps with wide open spaces.

I have a very good Predator map and gametype. It’s just as good, if not better than the original.
Its “Survive” on “Predator’s Pit”. I think its in my fileshare, look me up on Reach File Search.

Also, I could make that Walking Dead thing you were talking about.
But I currently do not have my Xbox, I may have it again in a few weeks.
If so, Ill make that Walking Dead gametype, and map if you want.

I’m a very talented Forger. My maps are very proffessional and unique.
And I’m good at designing gametypes.

Sweet, with me i prioritize interesting geometry and functionality over decoration.

I haven’t seen Halo:Reach’s infection recently but when i last played it was no where near as good as H3’s infection. They do need some dedicated maps for the game that way it actually feels like there is a zombie horde coming at you. I think some game modes should give the zombies back their shields so they can be an actual threat again. There’s nothing worse than starting a game as human then having a person who started as zombie quit because they didn’t want to die 10+ times just trying to get a single kill and now you end up becoming the zombie to fill the missing space. It gives more incentive to play as a zombie instead of just quitting. I really like the OP’s ideas. Hopefully no more of Reach’s empty maps.

I would love to see more players, especially more initial zombies, with slower movement but high shields and health (less spawn-camp), and Hologram for AA with very short regen (aka make it look like a horde of zombies).
Also, ammo should be very limited but extra ammo should be available at a few locations, so the humans got a reason to move and not just camp.

All I hope for is the Living Dead MM Playlists don’t follow what Reach did. H3 Had More Gametypes, Reach had just Brains(Alpha Still fits into this category) I also miss Safe Haven and wish we had Save one Bullet.
One thing I wanted in Reach would’ve been Alpha Zombies but with Shields, The shield wouldn’t effect the shotgun at close range and still one shot while it would take two Pistol Rounds to the head to kill a zombie.

I hate The Cage and all it’s remakes as a Zombie, there is very little advantages so I hide and wait for the unlucky Human to turn the corner for me to kill. Maps like The Cage are hopefully not going to be in H4. That or hopefully Forge and Infection themed maps that have Human/Zombie Balance.

They should make ur spartan look like they r the undead/flood/or just team color.

there should b alpha zombies and regular zombies.

halo 4 infection could b better now that u can spawn instantly, but u should b able to spawn on teammates.

make it so that the humans can pick up weapons, but the zombies don’t drop weapons.

objective zombies(kinda like invasion but better) would b interesting, the human have objective(s) to get to, whether its an ammo box, or the extraction point and the zombies have to stop them.

The biggest and most obvious change i want is for the Zombie to have a flood combat form skin, doesnt make sense that we have a zombie gametype but we dont use the actual zombies from the story. Not a biggie to do, just use their arm instead of the sword, same difference. Change up how they see things maybe. Gametypes with shielded zombies get elite flood forms while normal non shielded get marine flood. Maybe change headshot zone to where it is on the flood, upper right chest for marine flood and close but more centered for elite, for special game types only ofc would that headshot thing be a good idea i know how much people would whine about a change that big. other than that just more dedicated maps designed for infection.
