No, They said they were releasing a “Classic Playlist” which sounds like no Sprint and other crap… They are only releasing ball based gamemodes next month.

Going to find it would require effort. Can’t have that.
I’m hopeful it’s coming in the March update.
Josh Holmes also tweeted that they are currently working on ball modes and infection wouldnt be released until later.

I stopped reading the news after it only talked about weapon skins and armor remakes.
But pertaining to grifball, its great and all, but how -Yoinking!- hard is it to add infection… Its harder to make a new weapon than it is to add a preexisting gamemode.
Infection better have some special functions (like being able to toggle floodmode on/off, being able to change the infected’s models, etc…) if it is taking this long.

I think I was mistaken and it wasn’t in the news section now that I think about it. It was definitely tweeted by Holmes and I think Bravo mentioned that the ball modes will be out in February.

I have a feeling infection is just going to be the plain ol infection. People want to play it so bad once, but the playlist is going to die so fast its ridiculous. Its fun for a game or two, then people go play something else.

People, including myself, mainly want it for custom games and could care less about multiplayer.
Infection is still the number one most played gametype in mm for Reach and the only reason it died in Halo 4 was because nobody liked floodmode.

I don’t think it will be in February, I theorize it’s just Grifball, maybe Ricochet, Oddball, Assault, you know gametypes with balls. “BallTypes” if you will, as opposed to Flagtypes, and KillTypes (This is probably the one that has infection.) Anyway, I hope we get Infection, and maybe a infection version on Warzone maps and call it “Dead zone”
I played Infection mode mm almost religiously back on Reach. Once that mode drops on Halo 5, good luck finding me on any other playlists other than Team Slayer and Swat.

Yeah, infection, GB, and invasion were my favorites back on reach.

Very likely not the case. Adding a completely new weapon may be difficult, but variants of already existing weapons is likely not too hard by comparison. Adding a new gametype involves a lot more code and testing. You say ‘preexisting’ but it’s only preexisting in previous games. Halo 5, like basically every Halo, was built from the ground up. You can’t just copy paste code from say Halo 3 or Reach like that. They would have to build infection from the ground up like the rest of the game and an entire game mode is far more involved than a weapon variant.
Still, I can’t not agree that I also really hope it’s got some really great custom options when we do get it.
I must be the only one that could care less about infection; but to each their own, I can understand people wanting something they definitely like. I myself would rather grifball as my mess around and have fun playlist; but in the end bring on the game modes.
