I was playing infection earlier and managed (for the first time in a large number of games) to commit suicide three times, not back to back or anything, but in the space of the four rounds. These suicides were the result of charging enemies whilst infected, or miscalculating a jump - be that as it may, they were all mistakes. All of them made all the more likely because of the fact that you’re in a game-mode that has small maps with lots of edges to jump off… and you’re jumping around like a buffoon.
I got kicked out of the game. Fair enough, I’ll take that on the chin. I had been unfortunate with the suicides, I get it. What I don’t find to be acceptable is the fact that I ALSO received an 8 and a half hour long ban. In a game mode where suicides are sometimes unavoidable, it boggles my mind that you have the audacity to kick someone from a game and not feel that is punishment enough. Had I then joined another game and suffered the same issue - again, I could have probably understood. I had not. This issue was utterly isolated.
I would suggest that you need to review your ban process. From reading on the internet, I can see that I’m far from being the only person to have been shut down by this foolish device.
If you’re going to now take this opportunity to call it “deserved” and suggest that three suicides in a game of infection could only be achieved through abusive play-styles, then do yourself a favour and get a reality check. I’m not here for condescending responses about how I need to L2P or how I was likely doing it deliberately - I’m looking for a constructive response about your intentions to resolve or at the very least review this issue. It has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth - the action taken was overly aggressive and in this circumstance unnecessary.
