Individual Skill won't matter if...

Individual skill and rank to search for other people to play against won’t matter if the game doesn’t become a big success and has a ton of replayabilty. If the game is a big hit at first and everyone gets bored of it within months, then we’ll still be matched up with players outside the skill range just to be able to play. So instead of hoping for skill and rank to work at it’s finest, let’s hope 343i can make the game fun and addicting until the years come for the next game.

While good replayability will make the game better overall, they still have to have a decent reason in multiplayer.

But there are other ways to do that besides visible ranks.

Yes there are and that’s exactly what 343i is doing with Halo 4’s Infinity.
You’re building a career now, not just in multiplayer, but in Spartan Ops as well.
You have to work to get your favourite armour, weapon skins, Armor mods, etc…

BUT WAIT!!! only casuals care about such nonsense
/sarcasm

I’d rather have new stuff like that as apposed to a number from 1-50 next to my name. I’ll prove a can kick your -Yoink- in-game. If I wanna brag i’ll just tea-bag your dead body.

I agree, I care more about having fun that having a silly number beside my name to show how much I’ve played or how good I am. I mean, I can’t say I really care if other people think I’m better or worse than them, nor do I care if I win or lose. I just do my best and enjoy myself while I’m at it.

And Halo 4 looks like it will be a game that will be worth playing for years to come, so I’m not worried!

Exactly my sentiments.

I think the option to reenlist will make the game interesting for many people.
