Incredible secret in Halo 5 trailer

Locke approaches Master Chief in an artsy fashion, while saying artsy things. We see several times that he is wielding the DMR, also known as the “better than everything else” in Halo 4, but when we see through Locke’s perspective his HUD claims that he is holding a BR with only three bullets left!
This must have a deeper meaning.

Also, did anybody else notice the Infinity hovering off in the distance?

Oh, and 11 seconds into the video you can see that weird arch structure to the right and off in the distance. That weird arch structure is from this concept art piece.

It looks like Chief must have accidentally blown up some new colony. You can see in the concept piece that it’s not just some UNSC facility 'cause there are businesses with neon “OPEN” signs and stuff.

Perhaps this means that he is siding with ONI, but he is secretly on John’s side, but his faith in him is severely shaken, hence the three bullets.

That’s a stretch…

Three bullets in BR. Triangles have three sides. ILLUMARTY CONFIRM

Perhaps chief blew up the new colony because the flood was released and he new the danger of it and lock does not.

Freakin Hell, I swear that I was the first person to link the image of that piece of Concept art. Literally within a minute or two after the commercial aired, I already had a post with a link to the image.

I think that the Covenant attacked, glassed, and that Locke is just jealous that Chief made the Covenant leave.

The Chief? My guess is the planet looks like that due to the Storm Covenant up to their usual tricks…

So where’s the secret?

Yeah the DMR/BR thing is an amazing secret into the Halo universe. Well spotted!. Or I dunno maybe it’s a continuity error…

A place covered in rubble? Yeah that tells us the entire planet is destroyed and it automatically suggests the chief caused it…accidentally.

Thanks for this wonderful insight

Sigh

There is no possible way chief could have done all that. As strong as he is, a 1 vs infinity + a whole colony would not end well for him and would not last long. The destroyed city was an attack.

Or its just a trailer made to look cool.

The inconsistency between Locke’s HUD and the actual gun he is holding! The secret 343 thought I would never discover!

I noticed this too the first time I ever saw the trailer. You’re not the only one.

We also need to remember: We are dealing with potential lies that are stemming from both stories. If you want to look at other mistakes, Chief’s reticle is of the Pistol, or DMR, while he was holding an AR.

We can’t really come down to the conclusion that either of them are true since we dont even know what exactly happened here.

Either way, its a pretty good way to get us talking. Best trailers I’ve seen since Halo 3’s.

Actually, I was just joking about the whole HUD thing. I don’t think it was anything more than a mistake made by the effects guys.

I’m going with this. People are reading to much into them.
