Increasing Amount of People Quiting Games

The title.
What’s up with that?
I hope they get a whole day where they can’t play, because it’s not making this enjoyable.

Unfortunately the ban hammer doesn’t have much teeth so people quit without issue really. That is why I play so much ffa now. It seems team games rare stay equal and usually end with one side having quitters.

343 needs to incentivize staying asap

I understand why the quit bans are not very harsh, nobody should get a lengthy ban for lagging out or having their game crash. I wish 343 would introduce a secondary banning system that tracks quit rate over a long period of time that would give harsher bans. If someone is quitting 15-20% of their games, there is no excuse. With the current system it’s possible to quit 100% of your games and still be able to play everyday.

What I would say is this. I understand why people quit if it’s a lop-sided lobby, where one team completely rolls over the other. It makes for a very un-fun experience, especially on Halo 3 I’ve found. I’d rather quit and wait a minute or so and try to find a new lobby rather than stay in and get fed up with the game. Perhaps it’s an issue with matchmaking overall?
That said, it usually leads to a worse time for those on the quitter’s team, and less of a challenge for the one with the numbers advantage.
It’s a tricky issue to address. As has been said, a player shouldn’t be punished if they lag out. Then there’s when people have to leave to sort something out that’s come up.

The big problem is that someone’s exit is never reset, so if they leave 1/2, their team is in a loss until the end of the game … In Halo 5 there is no such problem.
