What are your thoughts? Increase, leave it as is… decrease?

Please let it not be the crappy light stick from Reach. I can’t tell you how many times that thing has screwed me out of a kill. It doesn’t have to be Halo 2 style, just please improve it from Reach.

Hard to say from that video, but looks like they need to increase lunge a bit.

I know at first people might think it needs more range, but they seem to forget something: We have Sprint.

Giving the Sword too much range is bad, giving it good range with Sprint is game-breaking.

when paired with sprint, that thing is pretty overpowered

It seems fair, then again looks little nerf. Reach sword lunge is anything like Halo 2. This may be ok…

I’m ok with how it is. People are mentioning that we now each have Sprint, which is true, as the player you are attacking will be running backwards, thus, you will be faster.

However, there is something people have not mentioned. When this Sword/Sprint is combined with other armor abilities, such as the Hard-Light Shield or Camo, it becomes even more dangerous.

Yeah, they do. As much as I hate being killed by that thing, they should at least make the range what it was in Reach, considering you can’t sprint at them from the front anymore, taking bullets to the face. Now that slows you down, so you can’t simply sprint all the way across the map.

No need. Sprint will more than make up for it I reckon. The Sword seems pretty dam effective in other gameplay I’ve seen.

Now sword + thrusters pack. I dread to think of the potential of that combo.

All players DO NOT have unlimited sprint. That is a specialization to get unlimited. If you do not pick the mobility specialization then you will have a meter for sprint that runs out.

With sprint as a default control I’d say it’s fair.

The Reach’s sword has good range, if someone is like 20 feet above you you could jump like 15 feet and then lunge to get you up the extra five.

It’s fine as it is with Sprint, imo. Even though taking shots slows you down now, getting crafty with the Sword was always more rewarding than charging straight at your enemies.

Definitely, needs a lunge increase.

And did you see the reticule for the Sword? Purely horrific. I just lost my appetite.

I would like to see it buffed by at least a bit.
EDIT: Actually, definitely needs a buff!

On a slightly unrelated note, this game SOUNDS amazing, though completely revamped.

EDIT: except the sword sounds more like a charging plasma pistol and far less intimidating… fitting, I suppose.

I don’t think it needs to be increased. The reticle went red twice by my count, so I assume a lunge could have been used.

Sure but since sprint is always an ability they need the sword block back in.
