About 2.5 days ago I was playing Warzone Firefight on ‘Attack On Sanctum’ and was doing my best for the team, however round 2 and the intermission after someone was on a ghost and kept trying to splatter me. Eventually he did and it angered me so that I messaged him saying ‘Stop it Idiot’. Later on, at round 4 I pulled out an Urban Gauss Hog and took out Deacon Pipap, and covenant were next for forerunner relic defense for the last round. Throughout that round I was alternating driving and shooting on the gauss hog to take our covenant infantry and Banshees and some Temple Wraith kept boosting to me, and for some reason the hog took significant damage and was on fire. I kept trying to drive out of the way and defend, but this troll kept going after me. I got so pissed I messaged ‘Piss off retard’.
Which brings me here where I recently received an enforcement notice for xbox live for communications and I can’t communicate in any form. What can I do about this injustice? I reported them two for trolling and this happens to me. I never play with anyone else, I’m always solo and I don’t farm, I just see this the firefight incident the only explanation for the enforcement, even if its a wrong one.
Waypoint is probably not the right place for you to seek help; 343i has no control over Xbox Live’s rep system.
As for your particular case, it’s not really an injustice. You ended up using offensive language (likely the term “retard”), and were likely reported for it. While you may not find the term all that bad, I think in today’s day and age using that as an insult typically isn’t considered kosher, and I’m not surprised that Xbox Live would issue a communication ban for it (if you called someone that here on Waypoint, a Monitor would certainly mod the post and possible ban you from the forums). From your story it sounds like you were indeed the target of trolls during the WZFF game, but it also sounds like that you ultimately gave them what they wanted: a rise. They triggered your anger and made you retaliate in a way that technically broke the rules of Xbox Live’s ToS. The appropriate thing to do would have been to ignore the trolls and report them for unsporting conduct. By responding to them with insulting language you gave them ammo to use against you, which they did. It sounds like a trap you fell into. Luckily, communication bans are (generally) temporary, so eventually it will be lifted and you can use this situation as a lesson learned to not react to trolls, no matter how annoying they are.
Also, it is against Waypoint forum rules to call out specific players for wrongdoings; I would suggest editing out the names of the players you are accusing of trolling so that a mod doesn’t do it for you.
Thanks for the reply, edited the names out. I thought what I said to them was soft compared to actual swearing. Is there some way I can appeal to xbox support about it, cause something like that is gonna bring my reputation down and I don’t want the avoid me status.

As I said, you may have thought using the language you did was not particularly offensive, but that is not likely an opinion shared by most. And in the case of a large corporation, they are more likely to be extra politically correct, so that they avoid potential ligation.
I’m in the same camp OP. I was in a firefight game and some guy kept running over my Warthog with his wraith and even persued me across the map until I got into a nook he couldn’t reach, and afterward I messaged him asking why. Now, I might be from the states but I spend a lot of time around aussies and thus have adopted some of their slang, one word of which is regarded has highly offensive to americans. I forgot this, and used the term like I normally do. I probably got suspended for that.
Either way, it seems our incidents are creepily similar, with both of us having our warthogs heavily damaged by wraiths boosting into us
