in response to ske7ch 343 recent posting

I just got done contacting the xbox support team and it seems that you included some misleading information yet again. In the post you just made it clearly states that if we made the purchase before december 20th and have not received a code yet that there is something wrong.

“If you pre-ordered the digital Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition PRIOR to 12/20 then you should have received your HW:DE code by now. If you haven’t gotten it then something is probably wrong.”

This is what xbox support had to say about that. Which is included in the original description of the game when you purchase it. But you shouldn’t mislead people again into thinking they should have the code by now because some people who purchased before the 20th haven’t got their codes sent yet. This is the quote from the support.

“OH okay. Anyway, usually, when you purchased or pre-ordered from our Xbox Store, the bonus item came with it is sent your Xbox message center within -10 business days. Since you purchased it on 18th or 19th, you still have more days to wait.”

K, cool. But what if I pre-ordered on the 6th and still done have my code?

Then according to them you should contact xbox support and see if they have sent the code on their system yet

i’m really really frustrated now, they send us to chat and the chat answer this

They told me the same thing and I preordered on the 3rd. I had it escalated to a supervisor, but of course they were receiving high call volume and are going to call me back (yeah right). I also contacted support through Twitter, they asked for my gamertag and said they were working on it and I haven’t heard anything back either. So I’m expecting to get to try again tomorrow.

Support seems to help for some so maybe it’s just about being persistent?

In queue to chat with them online. Hopefully they can help me but I highly doubt it. This “wave” system is the so broken that I really would like to know who came up with it. Christ this shouldn’t be this difficult to play a game and I have never experienced anything like this in my life lol.

Well they (support) told me to wait one more day and then to get ahold of them…

They told me they cannot help with this matter and I should wait for a new batch of codes. Well I guess I have not much choice here, and I am kind of tired putting so much effort into something that should go automatically.

I also had similar woes with the support team on chat. Mainly because they were reading the store page and like me took it to mean that the game would be available on the 20th.

It took a number of supervisors later to establish that there was a 7-10 days wait.

Well I had a similar experience with Xbox support. First the person I spoke to said I don’t have a valid Xbox tag - sigh I have been an xbox member for over 10 years now, Then she just proceeded to read from the store page, telling me that my code will be out in 7-10 days, and that NOWHERE do they have the information that if you preordered before 12/14 you would receive your code by 12/20. I preordered 12/2 - you guys took my money, and have yet to deliver on the goods

Are you sure they have charged you for the product?

But yeah, talking with xbox support is a joke. Not going to work and waste of time. Either wait for the game to magically show up, or cancel. Not really much options I’m afraid =)

Alright. Honestly - I’m not sure what to tell you. Heh - my impression of this system and those delivering it (xbox support) is that they are just crap at their jobs =p I mean, you can contact support and some will get a code, some won’t. There is no consistency and support will at first tell you they can’t give you code (but apparently, some people they can). My personal opinion on it is that it’s a horrible delivery service and its a horrible support service combined, but no matter how much the fault is on their side, you only have two options. Wait, or cancel order =p

I know I want to cancel my order out of principle - but I happen to want the game more then I want my principle to win the day so =3

My principle is the same… This is not a 343 issue…but a MicroSoft issue. And I loved the game on the 360 and I am looking forward to playing on PC…

hi

To get your code be persistent (Took me 8 attempts!) , some support team members are terrible :/Heres what I did

  • First go to here http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/contact-us - Select Xbox on Windows 10 - Select pre-orders - Get connected with a team member, explain the situation - Explain to them that you should have received the code by now and an official post confirms this - Then tell them you should have received the code 7-10 days after pre-ordering, don’t let them tell you otherwise - So you need to be given the code and that they are authorised to do soMaybe partially quote this if they still won’t, its the email they sent me with the code in:"You recently contacted Xbox Support regarding a problem with your Xbox LIVE account. As promised, this email includes a prepaid code (or codes) that you can use on your Xbox LIVE account.

To redeem the following prepaid code (or codes), click Redeem Now beside the prepaid code, and then sign in using the Microsoft Account and password for your Xbox LIVE account.

Halo Wars Definitive Edition :XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"If still no luck, try another support team member as I said some are good other not so…

We greatly appreciate you giving us heads up on this forum which is something that we are willing to clarify. We cannot speak in behalf of third party developer website details however rest assured that your pre-order freebies are still within the expected timeframe.

i’m really, really frustrated. thir time on chat, i’ll cancel this.

Update - Well good news here anyways - I hit up @XboxSupport on twitter and they actually were helpful and solved my problem. I just copied the post from SKE7CH along with my gamer tag, and a snip of the store page from my account showing when I purchased the game and about 5 hours later the code was sitting in my message box (around 1am) Give it a shot if you haven’t already. Good luck!
