In regards to the Crimson Map Pack issue.

So I have the Map Pass and like many was interested in the issues with this.

I just got off the phone with support, and at this point all their agents are aware of the issue since there have been a number of calls.

As it stands now, the issue has been fixed, and the DLC now correctly is listed at 800msp in the market. And those who got it for free will have their account auto charged for the content and there is no credit card or MSP on the account, the content will be inaccessible until they pay for it. Alternatively, he mentioned the people who got it free may receive a Ban as this is exploiting a glitch.

And to those who think MS cant do the above, they actually have full capabilities to do so. Blocking content is a common practice, and I have seen it personally. My account had been hacked once and they hacker bought all the FIFA 2010 dlc on my credit card. I was refunded and all content he had purchased was removed from my account.

As for the retrospect charges, many people with a connect will be interested to know that MS can watch you (in a sense). Say you rent a movie from MS. You are only allowed to show it to so many people at one time (last number I saw was anywhere between 8 and 16). If you connect recognizes more than the set number, the movie will be stopped and you will be autocharged for another rental (think of it like a liscence) before you can continue watching.

TLDR: LE and Map Pass people be happy. We get what we paid for. Others who got it for free, enjoy playing while you can.

lol wait, so you called them up even though you have LE? your life must be sad dude.

He’s just mad because he payed over the top price for a metal box and a map pass.

I think they usually don’t remove the hacked part…my achievement log still had the 15G FIFA something the guy achieved when he downloaded FIFA DLC using my deposit points. how about yours?

Actually…XBL Support already said via Twitter to many, many people who were worried about downloading the maps for free (without owning the Map Pass) that it was their mistake and it wouldn’t be a big deal. Those who got it free, got a freebie.

Also, that stuff about the Kinect hasn’t taken effect yet. It was just in their latest patent requests. Its fairly common practice for companies to attempt a patent on dozens of things that they may or may not do. Just in case they implement it, then it is theirs alone.

Can they ban people for that? Seems a little harsh since most of those who downloaded probably didn’t know any better. Can’t they just remove the content and explain the glitch to these people?

Could you please post the link where they tweeted that I’m still worried

So they use my tv as a webcam to track who is watching the movie with me?

There’s a HUGE difference between falling into one of Microsoft’s mistakes and a hacker buying content on your account illegitimately. There’s the need to make reparations on the one hand and a lesson learned on the other: double check your release practices.

Microsoft Support has already came out and said that if you get these maps for free, you don’t need to fear being banned or disciplined. And rightfully so. If Microsoft came out and said it was their own fault, and not caused by a third party, it is their responsibility to pay the damages. But, in saying that, they are in a stance that they don’t need to compensate you. You agreed to all terms and conditions and clearly it states when you used these codes or MS points there would be absolutely no refund given. They don’t owe anyone anything.

I have friends ho had bought the pass, and they agree with me when I say they don’t overly care that people got the pack for free. They’re just happy they got to purchase these maps to play today.

In all honestly, 343 and Microsoft will probably compensate you with some gimick that no matter what it is the entire forum will sit and complain about. Honestly people. Enjoy both the game and DLC

Oh -Yoink- no, Microft can’t ban anyone for this. The OP’s just throwing a temper tantrum because something nice happened to other people.

I’ve seen people posting this Twitter account and since it doesn’t have a verified account icon, we can probably safely dismiss it as a fake account

306k tweets, constant support replies and handled like how an xbox rep would handle said questions if you called? Ya. Okay. Totally fake. rolls eyes

Why would someone create a twitter to stay 24hours answring to questions related to xbox live?

Btw, OP is a yoink, you should be happy to have more players to play with the dlc.

Rofl OP you sad -Yoink-. Making up -Yoink- to scare people off from downloading free maps/making yourself feel better that you got rode out of what is it? 30 bucks in the us?. Jesus man, I bought the map pass too, but I ain’t butt hurt. so funny, I’m saving this pathetic -Yoink- page.

btw the maps suck 343, make some small ones -Yoink!-, and don’t make 3 maps that look like a horrible cross between complex and vortex.
