I gotta say, after reading a level-by-level analysis of Halo 5, I’m beginning to understand why people didn’t like it that much. I originally felt it was different, but as usual, I felt no hostile feelings toward any of 343 Industries, or it’s writers.
After reading this analysis, I have to say, I realize what went so wrong now.
Though, to be honest, I’m not so mad that we were delivered a poor experience. I’m more mad that Halo 5’s set of events and writing will forever be a part of the Halo universe; they can never go back and fix it, change it, make it consistent with everything else they’ve set up. They can’t re-write it.
If they could? I would honestly be much happier to delay Halo 6 just so 343 Industries could ‘have another go’ at Halo 5, as it were. I would literally be perfectly willing to pay ANOTHER $60, just to get a revised, canon, release of Halo 5.
But in the end, we’ll just have to hope that Halo 6 will be able to patch together and keep it together going forward.
I honestly think there big mistake was bringing back cortana, she died in halo 4 and it should have just been respected. we had didact and Jull the elite that they could have focused on, and even adding warden eternal wouldn’t have been so bad, but they killed Jull and didact so there goes that. I don’t now were halo 6 is going to go, I made the joke a while back that they would kill off cortana in the first mission of halo 6, but with this trend, they will do that then everyone will be upset, because “Yet again” 343 killed a story plot they set up from a previous game. It wouldn’t be to hard either, they could just write most of the story out in a comic then everyone who didn’t read it will be so upset in halo 6.
I’m still more upset that Bungie changed the original lore with Halo Reach. And that some of the books have happened.
