In-Game Store Unethical?

I personally do not like the store’s layout, as it seems to suggest “time” exclusive cosmetics (with the daily marker over an armor coating + helmet module) + encourage “time savers” in the form of purchasable xp boosts.I lay out all of my thoughts in this Video, if you need some more context.

Let me know if you agree or not. We gotta make sure 343 gets monetization right this time around.

eh, I dont. I dont really care if there is a rotating store. Only issue I have is the potential to buy BP levels. This could just be for the preview though in regards to credits so ill hold my judgement on that.

Also, being a rotating store is not unethical in itself.

I don’t think there is any issue with a rotating store or buying battle pass levels. The rotating store may prey on soke types of people through FOMO, but the buying battle pass argument I’ve seen so many times on here and I just don’t get it.

Would be nice for them to consider people who use the store a lot though and allow people to set a max monthly spend like betting companies or send them a warning if they are spending “excessively”. That would be an ethical way of dealing with people with mental health issues or poor financial situations.

Im not against it rotating as long as the cosmetics are not, for instance, put up for a 24 hour period ONLY to buy and then they’re gone forever. I feel like that preys a bit on the feeling of FOMO.

no store makes cosmetics gone for ever. They will rotate back at another point. Even physical stores do this with limited sales or seasonal items. I do thing its a rendition of fomo, but im less worried about purchaseble fomo instead of grindable ones.

Pretty sure PUBG + Call of Duty have been known to lock away cosmetics under unreasonably timed windows. Sure, some stores do this but not all.
