343 addressed this in their 2nd Flight Report.
TL:DR FSB has the better performance, but they will build an FSE mode after launch for those who want it.
I want to maximize the number of frames in my game, such as using NVIDIA’s NIS function, but in borderless mode this function does not work properly, thank you
This is a huge lifting experience for multiplayer mode，Even though I’m using 3080TI plus 5600X, I still can’t meet my frame count needs, and running against the sky in 2K will reduce my frame count by about 10-15 frames. My screen is 2K240

Full screen would make no difference for your performance. The only argument towards them implementing full screen is so you could have HDR on PC. I’m not sure how they’re going to add HDR with it missing, I guess they just won’t.
FSB is less of an issue, but as we get towards the launch date Nvidia will push out a game ready driver for Infinite. I’m watercooling a 8086k and 3080 Ti, so I’m aware of a few of the rough spots in the optimization.
Yeah, but even then “HDR” gaming is kinda BS to begin with.
I was actually wondering myself if HDR would be an issue, but I guess it’s not? Supposedly the game will automatically enable HDR if there is an HDR capable monitor connected. Not sure how that works as usually games have to be in exclusive full screen mode to enable HDR on PC.
