For the few games I’ve played I’ve developed a pretty simple strategy to win. Cap two points, move all units to one, and then deploy counters.
At pivotal points in the game I desperately need to drop a unit right into the fray. Of course I would like to drop a RUSH unit because it will have full health. However, I always rush to do this and end up dropping another unit instead.
Currently, you can only select cards by holding the trigger and then selecting which card you want via LS stick. This works fine, but at times I end up selecting the wrong card. I’d just like a manual way to do this instead. Maybe holding down the trigger and using either the D-Pad or RB to toggle between cards.
I don’t know everything about this game yet, but if anyone has already found a solution to my problem that would be appreciated.
You need to press A in order to deploy it. At least in my game. What I found frustrating is the fact that you need to move the LS in order to select the card by pointing at the direction of that card, lets say there are 4 possible angle areas to select them, I think everybody can understand what I mean if you have played…I was wondering if just maybe by moving left or right is not fine already? In short what I wanted to say is that you need actually to press 3 buttons, that it was at the beginning weird for me… BUT EH, I think I can get used to it. I don’t care that much now.

That’s the point of my post. The LS movement can be touchy. I believe it would be good for the developers to find an alternative. I’m also fine with the LS at times, but it would be nice to have a button to cycle through your hand. Like I said above the D-pad or RB would be good places to start if it was implemented.
The card selection tool is soooooooo obnoxious. I should just be able to cycle through. Not push the damn stick in the direction of the card. What a dumb idiot the person who thought this was a good idea was. I’m canceling my preorder until the studio releases a statement on removing this -Yoink- mechanic.

Did you cancel your preorder because of that? How old are you? wow…

yeah man, I play only on xbox… I am already level 7… I have to say I already got used to it. But I would really appreciate if they just let us move left right like I think should be… Wondering why is like this actually.
I think it would have been better implemented if they were tied to directions on the DPAD when holding LT instead of the analog stick.
The directional registry on the stick is wonky. If I’m trying to launch a card on the far right or left, sometimes it works smoothly, but more often than not I have to slam my stick downward and up the side I want.

It isn’t childish to refuse to pay for something because of broken game mechanics. It’s actually the only way to get a studio’s attention if they won’t listen to players otherwise. I have the right to not pay for something is there are small problems like this that indicate possibly larger screw ups in more important features later on. If the studio didn’t study that mechanic enough to see it was so crappy then what else did they overlook? I’m sick and tired of dealing with 343i and all the Halo 5 BS to just accept small problems. Loyal Halo fans deserve perfection. 343i and Creative are not indy games studios and they need to stop acting like it. MCC was a travesty and Halo 5 story was a betrayal to any real fans of the story/people who bought the BS Hunt the Truth crap. I’ll be -Yoink!- if I’m going to just continue paying for subpar games just because they have Halo in the title. 343i and Creative don’t get a free pass, so yes I’m canceling my preorder until the studio proves they can listen to users and fix problems.
I also found the card selection confusing. I don’t understand how it’s supposed to be “in the direction of the card you want.” The 4 cards are all lined up in a row. Either allow cycling through with RB and LB, or put the cards in a diamond pattern when LT is held, so it will be obvious to push up or down on LS.
It was also confusing to drop ODST’s. I selected the card, then had a hard time getting them to drop.
