In engine cutscenes are more immersive

The CG cutscenes done by Blur in Halo 4, Spartan Ops, and Halo MCC look great no about that. However, I strongly think that in engine cutscenes are more immersive and therefore the better choice for Halo 5 Guardians. The CG cutscenes are jarring and take me out of the game.

yea but the production quality is so high that it completely makes it up for me. theyll probably do something similar to what h4 did

Halo 4 had in engine cutscenes (LINK REMOVED)

The CGI cutscenes are probably the best thing in H2A, but yeah I gotta agree with you. Halo 5 is the first main series installment of the Halo franchise on “next gen” hardware, and I’m sure the graphics will be pretty enough that it’d be better to stick to in-engine cutscenes for more immersion. And I’m sure that’s exactly what they’ll do, given Halo 4 (which had amazing cutscenes).

He was probably talking about the Prologue/Epilogue, but that really made sense as CGI in my opinion

agreed

If you really com[plain about “Immersion”, you ought to be smacked in the head. It is your problem if you have trouble using “Willing Suspension of Disbelief”. I find the Blur cinema tics to be more immersive. Prove me wrong.

The problem is that the jump between CGI to in-game is rather jarring, especially of the CGI is really good. In any case, Halo 4 managed to give us near perfect in-engine cutscenes (though admittedly not as mind blowing as H2A’s), and that was on the old engine and on the 360. I’m going to take a bet that Halo 5’s in-game cutscenes will be nearly as pretty as CGI.

I agree but the CG in Halo 4 was not blur, it was some place in Scotland that did those, they were actually more impressive than the Blur stuff IMO.

I’m hoping that the main cinematics in Halo 5 will be in engine, it’s a little jarring otherwise.

I’m very impressed with this. Sadly, I had no idea this kind of mod was even possible.

In-game looks fantastic, but CGI does too. Something tells me they’ll be able to smooth out the jarring problem from CGI to gameplay.
