In Co-op, show us our team-mates shield strength in our HUD.

Had an idea a while back whilst driving around ONI: Sword Base in co-op.

Look at how fireteams were used in Reach. Replace that with our co-op friends, with the ability to show their shields and health.

Perhaps replace the service tags that are used in the fireteams, for example if I were a Halo celebrity and was in Reach, you stumble across blundering Pvt X. Reece who will probably be dead in the next 10 seconds. He’s added to your fireteam, his service tag: “REES”.

Now by adopting how fireteams worked in Reach, replace Pvt X. Reece with your Co-op partners gamertag or profile name, and my service tag with a small bar displaying their shields (and health if we’re keeping the CE/Reach model)

It could flash red when their shields are low or down in addition with the bar shrinking, and go with the nice red X when they’re dead.

The same can be done for the other potential players.

Just thought it would be an interesting addition to co-op play, I know traditionalists may disagree however. I have to stress that this is solely for Co-op (campaign and firefight) not multiplayer.

Opinions?

Yea, didn’t the Spartan IIs have that? Like when Fred landed on Reach with the others and he could use his HUD to see who was alive and dead etc.

Sounds like a good idea to me. You could see your AI team mate’s health in Halo: CE and most likely CEA so why not your Spartan partner as well? This would be nice in Halo 4 too.

This and Vehicle health bars man. I understand they took them out of previous games to keep the HUD clean, but I wnat more info in the heat of battle. And it would be more faithful to the Spartans in the books. Green acknowledgement light = wink

I would like it if you could see your team in up to 4v4s where your squad appears in Campaign, next to your tracker. With a Shield Strength indicator, their Service Tag, the circle should also light up green when they talk, and turn red when they die.

In my opinion, the shield meter should float above their heads rather than being a permanent part of the HUD.

Good idea with the green talk idea! I like that.

My name’s Ninja, and I approve this idea.
