It’s funny, my first playthrough on Halo 4’s campaign on Heroic felt more challenging than my recently completed second on Legendary. Because, obviously, I knew what to expect, and understood my enemies and the arsenal I had to work with better. It left me wanting more, and currently the only at least semi “official” next step up is Mythic - all skulls on. The leap from Legendary to Mythic, however, seems to be much larger than that from Heroic to Legendary. I’m not quite ready to dive into that and I wouldn’t be as excited if I just arbitrarily added a skull or two so I wanted to see if I, with the help of others here, could come up with something smack-dab in the middle. Lythic. Megendary. Whatever, the most important part is agreeing on which skulls should be activated.
As I see it, the 3 most game changing skulls have to be:
Black Eye - Shields don’t recharge unless you melee enemies.
Iron - Co-op: Back to previous checkpoint on death. Solo: Restart mission on death.
Blind - The HUD and the first person arms and weapon are hidden.
I would propose activating either none or just one of those three (probably Black Eye), and then all the remaining:
Famine - Weapons drop much less ammo.
Tilt - Enemy resistances and weaknesses are increased.
Mythic - Enemies have increased health.
Catch - Enemies are grenade happy!
Tough Luck - Enemies always go berserk, always dive out of the way, and never flee.
Thunderstorm - Major upgrade to the capabilities of enemies.
Cloud - Motion sensor is disabled.
Cowbell - Acceleration from explosions is increased.
IWHBYD - Rare combat dialogue becomes more common.
Grunt Birthday Party - Headshot a Grunt, HAPPY BOOM TIME!
What do you think? Too much? Too little? Don’t give a blam!? Please share your thoughts. Let’s make a new difficulty.
Personally, I don’t usually have time to play for more than about an hour at once, so Iron is a tough sell for me. I’d vote no on that. IMPORTANT: This is all meant for SOLO play. Ok go.
You’re going to have to activate all the skulls. Otherwise it isn’t at true Mythic/LASO run.
A couple hours ago, there was this user who said he completed LASO and got a an emblem for it. It was a skull one unlike we have in our normal options and not a pre order bonus either.

But he also said that he did it with out blind. I believe blind isn’t required because way back in halo reach bungie put the first LASO challenge out requiring all skulls on including blind on winter contignency. But the community complained about how hard it was so bungie from then on didn’t make blind a requirement.
My guess 343 decided to avoid the uproar and just made blind not a requirement.

That same user who unlocked the emblem was full of -Yoink- too; had no LASO games in his game history, and his story of playing offline wouldn’t count for something such as LASO which needs to be tracked with online play to be verified in any way at all. There’s a very strong chance he modded it as all the evidence he provided for it being a glitch just doesn’t add up at all.
I finished off my Mythic runs earlier in the week and I didn’t unlock the emblem, neither has anyone who did LASO co-op or utilising save & quit. To put it plain and simple, no one who should have the emblem yet has it and there’s a reason for it. What that reason is however is still unknown, but we’ll likely find out soon enough.
Why didn’t you get the emblem if you completed it legit? And Iron just doesn’t work for me I can’t leave my xbox on all day I pay the electric. I’d really like to find something right in the middle of Leg and Mythic
And to clarify, I wasn’t planning on it being a true Mythic run, hence giving it a different name. I think the jump from Leg to Mythic is disproportionate to that from Heroic to Leg. That’s why I’m trying to find a stepping stone between the two current highest.
