I’m not from a fantasy land, I’m from the land of ‘don’t do something if you don’t want to get punished for it’. It’s a game, if you’re gonna get so up about not being able to just leave whenever you want, advantage or no advantage, just don’t play. It’s not that hard a concept.
Either way, I’m done with this conversation, all you people wanna do is complain about something you could easily avoid. So idk what to tell you. If they add a feature where you can just abandon the game because of one thing or another, then great! But until then, you just gotta take the punches as they come.
And how would 343 know to “add a feature where you can just abandon the game because of one thing or another” if nobody complained? You’re a walking and talking contradiction.
Wanting something and basically moaning about something that happened are two different things.
Saying, “hey 343, I think it would be better for the community if you added a ‘no penalty with disadvantage leave’!” instead of basically throwing them under the bus because you got banned for leaving a game.
As D_dawgy said, you’re straw manning real hard here. I never quit a game because I have bad team mates. I stick with it to the end. But if two or three of those MF’ers quit on me, damn right I should be allowed to say screw this and move on. Make the first and second quitter have penalties, and let the remaining two players leave if they choose to.
This guy is a either actually delusional or just a troll, let’s collectively mute and move on.
Quitting out of any match in other games gets you a warning. Then a reminder that quitting hurts the team. This is, of course, with join-in-progress enabled. If the matchmaking is disabled? Like Destiny Trials of Osiris? Or Grandmaster strikes? You are now stuck.
A quick google search shows no join-in-progress has been implemented for Halo: Infinite Beta.
At that point… I would just say be thankful this is just a beta. As I recall, Destiny used to not have any join in progress for anything and now includes that support wholeheartedly for specific content. If the actual game doesn’t have that support in a similar time? Say a year or two? Then I would say 343 deserves what is coming…
But for a beta? Quitting matches is meant to deter people from hurting the fun of the game for others. As I personally see it through? If you cannot account for all the parameters of a given situation for network loss? You shouldn’t be implementing bans. Let the risk fit the punishment consistently. No progression of it, no-repeat offenses escalating a still simple issue for the players (because we all have that one game we can play which doesn’t have that issue for example).
Sorry to hear about the ban. Just be thankful this is just a beta and meant to help the conversation for what is being tried and achieved for the launch of the game.
Seriously I don’t understand, was this intentional for some hidden reason? Or did they run out of budget or not have enough staff/time to implement it?
My game froze twice tonight while playing on Bazaar, and now I’m “banned.” Pretty lame, considering I’m playing with some friends that just got Halo and now I can’t play for who knows how long.
Lol OP does sounds like he works for buzzfeed. “8 shocking facts about 343i. Number 4 will amaze you!”
On topic though I can relate to the problem. Had a ranked oddball match where someone quit/dropped at the start of the first round. With slayer you can still try to hold your own, but a 3v4 objective just isn’t winnable so really felt like a waste of time.
I hope they will implement a free leave system for ranked when a player drops with no ban but only a decrease in rank for losing that game. For social keep it as it is in my opinion, the game will fill in dropping players anyway.
The banhammer was always trash. Now it seems like it’s especially trash. There’s a employee who used to be on the H5 forum that used to talk about how good it was. Joke.
Y’know, I assumed that MCC was a blueprint for features to come in Infinite but it seems like I was deeply mistaken in such an assumption because we are lacking so many ease-of-life features & mechanics.
