In Amber Clad not spawning in Halo 2's Gravemind

When going over the light-bridges in Gravemind, at one point Cortana calls attention that In Amber Clad has appeared in High Charity and you can see it fly overhead.

Ever since the Season 8 update to Halo 2, I have not had In Amber Clad appear for me. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not appearing for anyone else?

There is another oddity I noticed since the Season 8 update to Halo 2…

Summary

You know the section in Metropolis where the Scorpion tank is staring down the Scarab and Sergeant Banks says, “Marine, did you I give you permission to -Yoink!-?”

I remember this next part happening occasionally on the original Xbox, but prior to the recent update to Halo 2, it happened consistently since launch. When the Scarab walks over it would always knock the antenna into Banks and splatter him - hilarious! However after this last update it hasn’t been happening at all.

Has anyone else noticed Sergeant Banks being sparred by the Guardians thanks to the recent update?

I haven’t played h2 since season 8 release but i care about these little things, you should open a ticket and report the issue

I can’t say anything about In Amber Clad because I haven’t played that mission in a long time, but the sergeant getting hit is just pure random chance, in my experience. Both before and after Season 8 I have seen him get hit with the antenna and not get hit.

I’ll give gravemind another go, and confirm if it’s happening on my Series X.

I had it appear fine just now, playing on pc. Maybe this is a console exclusive issue?

I figured it out!

Just before entering the area where In Amber Clad appears, I had previously jumped up on the outer wall to skip that open outdoor area. By not going through the door itself I skipped a trigger which causes In Amber Clad to spawn.

In this case, I went over the wall, the ship did not appear, I went back through the door and returned to the area, and In Amber Clad appeared.

Mystery solved! Though I would like to look more into how I was consistently killing Sergeant Banks… haha.
