Because of the fact that 95% of the Halo 4 population uses it, i kinda balances itself out. I havent been killed by a Battle Rifle or Carbine in ages.

And if it were balanced/not in the game in the first place, the other weapons would actually have a purpose. Scratch that, custom classes would have had a purpose.
All it took was one gun, just one gun made custom classes completely pointless. Might as well call it custom secondaries, because your primary is basically the Designated Everything Rifle every time, all the time.
The DMR single-handedly makes custom classes (you know, the ability to CHOOSE your weapon) completely redundant. Might as well call it Reach II since the DMR is, yet again, the weapon of choice. The traditional BR from halo’s 2 and 3 is useless against a skilled DMR user, which will soon be everyone once they play enough. SWAT is the only gametype where it actually has an edge, and even then not so much. I guess Im one of the 5% of players who use the BR or carbine.
I guess people like me are becoming extinct to this DMR game…
If everyone is using it, that means that there aren’t compelling reasons to spawn with other weapons.
Balance amongst the players? Yes.
Balance within the sandbox? Maybe not.
Your rationalization of why the DMR should remain the same is very flawed. :=( To be honest, it does not make sense. The weapons should be balanced…
The DMR isn’t overpowered. Just the fact that everyone uses it makes it ridiculous. I used to be a BR user because the BR is awesome. But unfortunately I had to switch to the DMR because literally everyone uses it. But there have been a good amount of times where a carbine user got the edge on me with my DMR which means fighting against DMR users with other rifles isn’t a hopeless effort. As for the BR and LR though, I never get killed by the BR unless in swat (which makes me feel cheated because the BR in swat doesn’t take as much skill or precision.) And as for the LR, well barely anyone uses that unreliable gun.

But if it wasn’t overpowered then people would be using the other weapons. Plus the DMR can outdo a sniper from long range.
