I think in Halo 5 Guardians we should be able to shoot, reload, melee, and throw grenades while sprinting. The whole sprint throwing you out of combat due to not allowing you to fight back against other players is just dumb, bad game design, and does not fit in with Halo.
Halo really doesn’t even need a sprint button, just a more varied and faster maxed out base movement speed than what Halo 3 had, but all the 13 year old kids now think every FPS has a sprint button so I understand that 343 Industries probably needs sprint in Halo 5 Guardians to help it sell. So I think this idea is a great compromise and a great way to make sprint fit in with Halo better.

THIS!
I am pretty sure in Halo CE you already moved at what is comparable with COD as sprinting speed.
We are also not PC we have a movement stick that detects if it is fully forward or not meaning we can change our speed without the need of pressing a button, just because you don’t press a button and head into a dumb useless animation that takes away the core gameplay does not mean you’re not moving at a higher speed than normal.
Well, I always thought that would be an improvement should sprint ever return. It will cease the defenseless argument. Though I rather just have default thruster pack.
Or sprinting could just not return, that would also solve the problem.
If sprinting were to come back, I think it should still be a defenseless state. It’s the trade-off for moving faster. Ghosts and Banshees get penalized the same way when boosting. I know comparing players to vehicles is apples & oranges, but that’s my take away.
If sprint comes back, cool. If they change it, fine. If they remove it, whatever. Halo is still Halo.
If we were to follow this idea, then what would really be the point of having Sprint in the game? Might as well take it out altogether in that case, since it hardly adds anything except faster speed.
Actually, now that I’m on the topic, what does sprint even add to the game? Absolutely nothing. So, shall we just take away sprint? Yes? Awesome.
Taking sprint out would be a reasonable idea. however, for modes like grifball and other fast paced game modes, i think it should be left in
No way it’d kinda ruin it for me, I like how Halo is and if they take it too far in the fast paced shooter direction like they tried to do with Halo 4 then I don’t think it’d be that great. Obviously Halo is a fairly fast paced shooter already but it’d be too much in my opinion
