With the amount of money they made off of REQ packs, I doubt that REQs will be disappearing from Halo anytime soon. With that being said I think there are some definite adjustments that need to be made to the base game.
For example, I think we should be able to purchase armor with our REQ points in a way that’s similar to credits in Halo:Reach. The cost for armor shouldn’t be cheap (Mythic Armor being like 100,000 RP) but it would definitely make it nicer for people who want to get specific pieces of gear.
Also, I think they should add daily and weekly REQ challenges, each challenge rewarding you with a substantial amount of RP. (I.E. Assassinate an enemy spartan, win 3 matches in a row, get 50 kills, etc.) Having challenges would make it nice so that players don’t have to constantly grind out matches for points and can be rewarded for completing tasks with different tiers of difficulty.
This last bit isn’t really about RP but more about armor. In H5, the only way to get armor was through REQ Packs. Bring back armor rewards! In H5 commendation rewards were pretty lame and could have definitely been improved with unique pieces of armor being obtainable exclusively from completing commendations. Also bring back Campaign Legendary difficulty rewards! The armors of spartans in the campaign should be set as rewards for doing certain things in the campaign! I would have preferred something like this:
Halo 5 Legendary Difficulty: Chief and Locke armor
Collect all Intel: Buck
Find all skulls: Kelly
etc, etc…
Having different ways to get armor in the next Halo game would be a massive improvement to the armor system in Halo 5. Being able to brag about the armor you have because you earned it for doing a unique challenge or saved up all your REQs to purchase the specific piece.
