Things to Change List Part 1-
- Add placeable AI in forge. people will invest soooo much time in your game if you do this making their own crazy campaign stories or modes and it would be incredible. I have wanted this in the game for so long - Add human bodies of marines in forge - Change elite art style they’re to big and clunky. - Bring back the old gritty art style of halo in halo 5 everything is very animated and cartoon like. - Bring back the old art style of halo and its color. You have made a big step in the right direction with halo wars 2 art style so keep that up. You can even combine the old and the new art styles in creative ways. Another big feature that is missing is the amount of blood. Everyone knows you’re trying to get the T rating and sell more copies but that’s never been the style of halo. Halo has always been the violent world of war and so there was always blood. This made the game more enjoyable and immersive because of it instead of no blood in halo 5. Taking out all the blood has made the enemies feel not real and cartoon like and not pleasing to eliminate. Let’s face it hardly any parents nowadays will stop their kid from buying halo because it’s M rated instead of being T rated. I can’t tell you how many children play call of duty or far more violent and bloody games and their parents don’t bat an eye. We are in a world now where ratings don’t matter as much as they used to. Besides It’s not worth losing or disappointing the faithful fans that halo has always had because of it. - If you want to get people invested in your campaign which halo is known for then you need to create likeable characters. Make characters that have funny dialogue and that the player can relate to and like and let us get to know them. The best way to get people involved with your story is to get them to care about the characters that they’re playing as. - More promethean vehicles need to be added to the game. The promethean weapon and vehicle sandbox is severely lacking as it stands in halo 5. I do not enjoy to use hardly any of the promethean weapons and there is only one vehicle that the prometheans have. This makes the prometheans very boring and repetitive with no real variety or surprise and they lack as an enemy. - The elites need to have a group vehicle equivalent to the warthog. Maybe even just let the revenant be used in forge. - Make armor earnable either through achievements or points instead of purchasable. Never lock any game changing material behind microtransactions. If you do this it breaks the game and makes it unfair for people that don’t wish to waste money and want to play casually. It also makes it so that fans can’t interact with all of your content that you worked so hard on. - Make specific pieces of armor customizable like in reach. Just adding an armor customization adds far more unique variations to everyone’s character and adds even more material to unlock and keeps everyone invested in your game in a healthy fun manner. Also if a player sees someone that has a costly piece of armor on they earn respect because people know hard they worked to get it and how much time they put in. This gives the player a sense of accomplishment and is almost like a trophy that the player can show off. - The lighting issue with spartans needs to be corrected. Often in halo 5 spartans look like they glow and don’t fit in at all resulting in them looking plastic and fake. This was in attempt to make it impossible for spartans to hide in darkness but it was a poor solution. Think of a different way to solve this problem maybe even a flashlight mechanic like from halo CE. - Better vehicle physics. The vehicle physics in halo 5 are some of the worst vehicle physics I have ever seen. If even a friendly vehicle merely pokes you your shields are instantly down. To die from a vehicle they barely have to move or if they’re barely moving forward and you run into it you are killed. This often resulted in unfair gameplay that was aggravating and didn’t feel natural. I would often be pressed against a tank walking alongside it and I wasn’t aloud to board it, or if I jumped from a ledge onto a wraith that was moving at normal speed I would die instantly. This also results in banshees being highly overpowered as well. All banshees have to do is launch a bomb and then flip and they can keep doing this to get an enormous amount of kills. Due to the vehicle physics it is impossible to board a banshee unless it slows down and flys next to you. A fix to this would be to add a cool down so that if you fire a bomb you can’t flip for a few seconds (and visa versa) and it requires the player to think and be more strategic with their choice instead of flying straight to the ground and bombing at very close range and then flipping and killing anyone in the area trying to board. - More consistent aim assist. The aim assist in halo 5 feels very clunky and inconsistent and it significantly slows down at some times more than others and it doesn’t feel right. Also give the player the option to turn aim assist off if they want to. - More open world for exploration and less linear. Halo 5’s campaign was extremely linear and left almost no room for exploration within the world and no random encounters. As a Halo game you need to be able to explore more and have more places to go and to come across random foes and weapons caches. This adds to the games length, replayability, and enjoyment. It also lets the players make more choices on what they want to do and if they wish to take the risk. - The prometheans need to have a different playstyle. The prometheans are constantly just spawned in over and over again and it gets very boring and not unique or exciting. Fans would prefer for them to fly in in drop ships and to see them coming and have to get ready for a fight. Also the weapons for prometheans need to be tweaked. The weapons heat seek far too much and you can barely do anything before having to duck behind cover again. This results in a very peekaboo style of gameplay where you constantly have to keep hiding and can’t try any aggressive style of gameplay without being bombarded by countless heat seeking shots that are not dodgeable. I believe that their weapons should fire in a more linear fashion so that the player can try different styles of fighting. These changes result in the prometheans being far more fun to fight and less monotonous and boring. - Bring back playable elites even if just in custom game. I can’t tell you how much people want this back in the game. People love playable elites and game modes that include them like invasion. Adding playable elites makes people so happy and allows for the creation of more machinimas, more game modes, elite clans, more covenant vehicles, and so much more. People want this bad. - Make a promethean that’s the same level of a hunter so you are intimidated to fight them. Knights just aren’t as intimidating as a hunter and are seen a lot more often and are easier to kill. I miss the feeling of seeing a hunter and having the feeling of “oh boy this will be a challenge better prepare.” and there really needs to be a promethean enemy that can do this.
