I’d like some tips from anyone willing to help on how to improve my gameplay, mainly my weapon skills, primarily the battle rifle. Well this is my rather unfortunate story of my halo gaming career. I started playing halo back when halo 3 came out and I played a lot of games back then. Probably almost 20000 I’d guess between social and ranked. Despite my attempts though, the highest rank I was able to get in halo 3 was a 48 (in lone wolves). It sucked, but I figured for my first halo game it wasn’t too bad. When halo 4 came out I was really expecting to do better and thus far it has been ok but I recently started a new account on a quest for that ever elusive 50 even if it is the CSR system. I watched everyone else talk about how easy it was to get their 50 so I started playing and playing but alas all I’ve been able to muster is a 49 (in rumble pit). What I’m wondering is why I’m just not as good as everyone else? I play a lot, so do I just need to play more or are there key things I’m missing? I’ve heard that you should have a high sensitivity, I only play on 3 but I feel like that’s not the problem. I’m a very patient player and how I win games is by smart play not skill. Mainly my BR is my problem as I tend to be slayed in 1v1s. Is there something I’m missing? What’s the best way I can improve my BR? I’ve been playing mostly FFA game types in an attempt to improve but it just doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
If you’re a 49 in CSR, there isn’t anything I can do to help you. You just need to keep playing and eventually you’ll get to 50. Problem is that there aren’t that many 50s out there so it will take a lot longer to level up playing against lower ranked people than it would playing against a 50.
A lot of people lie About their 50’s. I’m on my way to a 30 soon in BTB. Some reason I can’t get a high CSR but I hold my ground very well in competitive gaming. Ill add you and we can share tips and tricks.

Agreed. You have to go positive by a large chunk non-stop, match after match. I did I think 4 games in BTB where I went positive by at least 10 kills and I am sitting on a 30. You have to be pretty much pro skilled to get even past 40 in my eyes.
I know I can do it, I just don’t know why I haven’t. I can make a 40 and I think I will start working for it.

On my main I’m a 45 in infinity slayer and a 39 in BTB. Thanks for your opinion

Thanks for the reassurance, I guess I’ll just keep playing.
“Just keep playing,” isn’t the best advice. If you’re struggling with your BR play octagon with some people you know in customs. I have my 50 in BTB and in Infinity slayer. To me they don’t mean much, because they are not a team based playlist. Sensitivity has very little to do with it; in fact a lot of pros play low sensitivity (like 3 or 5).
My suggestions are:
- Play an hr a day
- Watch film
- Play with people you know are better than you they will teach you how to dougie
- Don’t give up
- Track your progress on Halotracker
I left a link below to my stats to prove that I have my 50 and so you can see my stats.
less slayer pro
Best thing to work on for the BR is aim for the body and on the 3rd shot you want to switch to the head as aiming for the body gives a higher chance of making sure you hit.
Try to always make sure you can pull of the first shot or get a grenade at their feet to improve your chances of survivability.
Are you dancing? If not, you’ve got to learn how to! Dancing = strafing btw.
I’m only a 42(?) in BTB but the easiest way to increase your csr is to play with some friends who knows what they’re doing. They don’t have to be the best players but as long as you all know what you’re doing you’ll win most games
