Improvements/Features Infection Should Have

So what features/improvements do you think we should see for Infection?

I mostly just play custom games in Halo and I enjoy making and playing infection maps and gametypes, whether it be an infection-based mini-game or a true infection game of survival, and so I would like to see the following features appear or return for infection:

  • The custom game Option to make the in-game Voice Chat settings in a specific gametype either:
    a. Social Team Slayer like in Halo 3 (where zombies and humans can only hear each other when they’re in close proximity)
    or
    b. Free-for-all like in Reach
  • Options for how starting zombies are chosen at the beginning of a round, like in Halo 3
  • Return of safe havens with more options, including longer timers, option to make them change in a specific sequence, option to make the hill marker less visible/more transparent, etc.
  • Perhaps have the option to include survival time as the score, as most infection gametypes revolve around how long you survive
  • Perhaps have the option to make zombies appear as flood combat forms or Elites
  • Options to disable all damage except melee damage so that zombies could only melee attack
  • Zombie claws for weapons
  • Option to make deaths not show up on the scoreboard. The death and k/d stat is utterly meaningless in most infection gametypes, after all.

any more ideas?

We NEED the zombies to be flood in Halo 4 in infection! :slight_smile:

I’d also like a few new gametypes for Infection - Alpha Zombies, Safe Haven’s, ect.

There’a modded gametype in Reach that allows Elites as the zombies in infection, it’s honestly a miracle to me that people have barely even touched it, but I think there should be an actual option to switch to the other form that you will be able to play as. I forget that they haven’t told us what the other form that we can play as is. I just hope it’s something bad***.

There is one thing that is annoying in Halo Reach’s infection and it’s the random starting zombies!!! Sometimes I’m never a zombie for a few games and then I’m zombie all the time. Worst moment was when I was ALWAYS a zombie for 3 full games.

Fortunately, I have solution to this stupid decision:

Infection playlist is for 12, players right?

Instead of 3 rounds, there are 4.

Every round has 3 starting zombies, which are random, BUT nobody cannot be zombie twice or more in one match

At the end of the game, everybody has been a zombie, and has been 3 times a survivor.

And this is how infection should have been since H3. From both a gameplay standpoint, and the fact that I’d like to play as a flood combat form for once.

What I’d like to see is kind of difficult for me to explain so I’ll do it in bullets.
-It would be a new infection gamemode
-It would go humans vs. zombies vs. human
-The Red team would be going after the Blue team and the Blue team will be going after the Red team. (Like Slayer)
-The Reds and Blues will have to defend themselves zombies.
-If a human (Red or a Blue) is killed by a zombie they get infected.
-If a human kills another human that is on the other team they’ll score 1 point
-If a human kills a zombie they’ll score 2 points
-If a human is killed by a human on the opposing team they’ll respawn
-in order for the zombies to win they most score 90 points by killing the humans; however, the zombies get three points per kill
-the score is 90 points to win, but if one whole team gets infected the game is over and the with players that are not infected wins.

Sorry if this seems confusing, but I believe that it’d be fun to play. Let me know if you need anything cleared up! (:

I think the first round of infection should start with little survival against flood crawlers running around attempting to infect players (They will be in large amounts).

Now when one person is infected the flood crawlers will stop spawning and that’s how the game begins. The infected zombie will kill someone and when they fall on the ground the flood crawler will come onto your body as you watch while on the floor. Then you will become infected.

The only system improvement I think we ought to have is the following:

New Weapon: Zombie Claw. Notice how we have a reskinned Gravity Hammer in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach? Well, why not a reskinned energy sword? Turn it into a weird zombie claw thing, to go along with the gametype. It’s not quite the “playing as the Flood” that people ask for, but it’s probably a cheap and easy way to accomplish something similar.

The rest of the stuff I want is mainly tweaking the dichotomy that Bungie held. Zombies should have the power, not the survivors. Oh, and wackier gametypes. That is all.
