i love stealth, it makes games fun and i feel that halo has had stealth missions but it always goes loud after the first shot so i think a good old sneak through a banished base would be cool like a Bokobolin camp in legend of Zelda breath of the wild and if 343 were to add a metal gear style meter showing our detection levels. think how fun that would be

Nah, I think stealth shouldn’t be a big thing.
I think it should just be a way to start a fight with a big advantage over the Banished camp so it goes more smoothly than a head-on assault which, if you play in Legendary (or even LASO), would help a lot and minimize the chance to die.
Halo really isn’t the style of game where you can kill a whole ennemy base without being seen, it’s a shooter where you play a super duper soldier clad in big super duper armor with big guns that shoot aliens to save humanity (Don’t take that resume of Halo seriously), so being sneaky isn’t Master Chief speciality. (look at his ODST drop scene in H2A, Cortana clearly asked him if he could be anymore noisy and he took the SPNKR to say “NO”)

I agree hugely,
There seem to be a lot of sacrifices in terms of biome and narrative that we will have to accept with this being a semi-open world, and with all of the hype around us being able to choose how we fight battles, it’ll all be for nothing if there aren’t adjustments to the gameplay that allow for those different play-styles. Improved stealth would be key to that, otherwise the game might as well be linear.
That’s big no-no from me. Halo’s never been anything remotely like Hitman or Splinter Cell, which used stealth properly and genuine.
Stuff like that definitely doesn’t belong into Halo, it would just feel out of place and out of character regarding John.
He’s never been a subtle guy and it should stay that way.
Being stealthy really hasn’t been something done in Halo, for example you can full on run, jump, and melee around sleeping grunts and they will not wake up unless there is a gunshot or grenade used. I could however see stealth attacks being in Infinite in a very limited capacity such as sneaking around to evade a banished patrol that has not engaged with the player yet or if you sneak into a camp and assassinate a brute such as a chieftan or maybe an elite to start off your battle with them. Beyond that I don’t see it being likely for Spartans to be truly stealthy, even just a normal walking speed is going to be loud because of their weight. That is unless active camouflage comes into play with both invisibility and noise cancellation, however active camouflage has generally had very limited short term use in the Halo games.
The most stealth I’d want out of it is just if you use a suppressed weapon like the smg from ODST it wouldn’t alert nearby enemies. I feel like anymore than that and you start running the risk of changing the core mechanics too much.
I would like stealthy moments in Halo infinite, where you could just take out every enemy in a base without being seen or heard. But it should be difficult. I would not want levels where it’s required to be stealthy.
I love stealth games. But there has to be a line. What i mean is that other stealth take forever to complete A mission. But by the same token with infinite being open world they should add stealth aspects to the game. Make it optional.

just sayin, stealth very much still fits Johns character. He just does not do it in th games
Stealth like in Farcry would work for me, give me the chance to slap a silencer to an assault rifle or a BR and boy, I will turn Master Chief into something Black team and headhunters would only dream of being.
It doesn’t need super big stealth mechanics but I do want them, would add to the feel of being stranded with minimal support. Also in Shadows of Reach it is said that their new Gen 3 armors have active camo, although they glow like a sun in infrared
I think a stealth detection bar would be taking it too far, but I would like more areas that you can clear without being detected. There were a few areas like this in Halo CE and I always have a blast trying to stealth through them. But ultimately halo is an action shooter, stealth isn’t the main focus of the game and if they added stealth game elements it would change halo too much. I like halo stealth in doses. I like using it to take out some enemies or get the jump on a large group, and the occasional area you can get through without detection, but I do not want most of the game to play like that.
I like the idea of light stealth elements in Infinite. Eg. Enemies having like 3 stages of ‘awareness’ : oblivious, alert, in combat.
I wouldn’t like the idea of a stealth meter in the traditional sense, as stealth should be possible but challenging (like parts of Halo CE).
Stealth can be utilised in active combat too, enemies focusing on last known position, allowing you to flank etc… Assassinations being completely silent, as opposed to a Ninja (which is quiet, but not completely silent - trade off).
