Why not have neurtal objectives that the spartans/elites have to capture to contiue to next phase- like capture security nodes in a forerunner installation?
Why not have “deployment zones” on the map that enemies can’t get to to prevent spawn camping?
Better set up in general. I’ve been playing invasion mode since the day Reach came out and you know what? Everyone time (except for the rare times) a teammate dropped out then it was impossible to win unless the other team was made up of idiots.
One idea that I liked was having deployable buildings (Obviously with a lot of limitations because of server stain) but why not make it feel like an actual invasion with dropships, bunkers, and more!
More transport vehicles- I always felt as though the teams that could really use transport vehicles didn’t have them, the spartans (except for once) always had falcons even when they were defending, what about the elites? Nope! No phantom, no revenant, nothing! Come on, if the elites were attacking 2 times out of 3 they would probably want some kind of transportation!
Team colors. shutters this was the worst thing bungie changed from the beta, I mean really why did they change the elites from their purple color to blue and spartan’s green to red- and then have them keep those colors when they rotated! I can’t stand being a blue spartan fighting red elites.
Preferred speices. Again for as long as I have been playing halo with the preferred race of elite I ALWAYS get stuck as a spartan in invasion mode.
Give us dropships! Come on, who honestly doesn’t want these in invasion mode? Atleast on the big maps, because these would be awesome for invasion (Might be a little annoying with people dropping into the objective then swooping away with the core or whatever.
(Please be aware that this is my first thread on these forums ever so please don’t flame me too much.)
One thing I think is required to keep invasion balanced is if there are two or more species participating, and they can only get their own weapons in their weapons drops, then their sandboxes need to be balanced.
Being on the Elites’ team in Invasion Slayer was a pain, for example, because the Humans had a sniper rifle and the Elites didn’t. This gave the Elites a huge disadvantage, especially on maps like Hemorrhage.

Yeah, I always felt the elites were at a massive disadvantage with snipers, vehicles, and standard weapons- the elites had the focus rifle thats really only good as a stun weapon, the humans had the warthog and falcon and elites only had the revvy, and then the plasma repeater was just a squirt gun compared to the assault rifle- its shots were slow, bright, and easily avoidable unless you’re at close range.
Good idea. Btw team colors help people so thatntheyndint accidentally snipe their own teammate, also in the books etc it talks about how spartan teams had the same armor color to communicate and know each other. Just saying
I will always advocate having objective-type gameplay included with firefight when someone mentions it! And I agree with your bunker idea, firefight should be more of a ‘defendable’ type game rather than just mindlessly run around with unlimited rockets. Let’s keep the ideas comin’!

O_o
You do realize I’m talking about invasion mode and not firefight right?
invasion is a copy of Battlefield’s Rush mode. I like it a lot and think that they should just have a larger variety of objectives. I also hope it doesn’t get the TU in Reach. The TU is stupid.

But Halo reach came out before battlefield 3 was even revealed… it couldn’t be a copy…

There was rush in the other battlefield games…
Don’t get me wrong. i don’t care if invasion is a copy. I still love it.

I’m hoping for some AI backup in Halo 4 Firefight. For instance if you are a Spartan you might get a Marine or ODST backup at certain points in an Invasion, and for Elites you’d get Grunts and Jackals and perhaps even Hunters.
Invasion is an amazing addition to Halo and with just a bit more variety it would be perfect.
