I know this may seem like a minor gripe. But. at current Halo 5 is a whopping 41.22 GB on the Install disk and another colossal 55.98 GB via the network. My hopes are that the install options are similar to the Master Chief collection. Also, why not provide the option of purchasing that colossal 55.8 GB network update on a CD/DVD? At normal network speeds, the whole install takes much too long to complete. But if it were contained on multiple install disks (option), at least you’d have a choice that I’d think others would want to take and not have to go 4+ hours via a network. What if all you wanted was the Multiplayer experience and not the campaign? Going the Master Chief Collection install way that could greatly reduce install time for those of us who don’t have the money for a fancy super highspeed network.
I wouldn’t be against that. A lot of people don’t play the campaign, so why should they install it? Or vice versa.
Same with other game types like Forge or even Firefight if it makes a return.
I think every game should adopt MCC’s selective install feature, it’s so good.
Isn’t a lot of that 55gb network size post launch updates? Can’t really put scattered updates on a disk unless you literally made a disk every time there was an update which would be horrible.

That’s true, but even if they provided one once every now and then, lets say quarterly or biyearly could help to a degree instead pushing it all into one big network update.
I’m totally not against the idea of putting everything on a disc or two since I’m still pro-physical. However, it comes down to manufacturing costs. It’s not feasible over the course of the life of the game to repackage the game repeatedly for minimal return. For better or worse, gaming these days is heavily reliant on the internet. There were tons of updates to games last generation too, albeit not nearly as large or frequent.
But, the good thing for people in your position is that Intelligent Delivery, the thing that MCC uses to allow you to install only certain aspects of a game, is being widely adopted by games going forward. So you should be able to pick and choose what you want in Infinite.
