I am impressed by what I have seen of the Halo 5 Beta and I am glad that we have gotten rid of ordinance.

The ordinance drops being gone is great but there are a few new things that make me worry about the game.

  • Bringing back sprint
  • The announcers voice
  • The over-usage of awarding medals (You now receive a medal for just killing someone…)
  • Groundpound (Really all spartan abilities)
  • The DMR

I think everything else seems fine but there are a few thing that need to be tweaked and this game will be great.

You don’t like the DMR? Really? I think most people like it, and I think it’s great. Also I’m pretty sure you also got a kill medal in Halo 4, so that’s not really new.

Ground pound is a bit of a concern for me but I ain’t going to knock it until I try it. Everything else personally does not bother me. I’m glad sprint is back personally and the DMR looks sick. What is it about the DMR you don’t like ?

The problem most people had with it in H4 was its balance with the BR and its range. With the BR’s new sight, the two are more clearly divided in terms of usage, but their balancing has yet to be seen. The beta will probably sort it out anyway.

The Breakout Game Type looks cool.
