Impossible Core Objective On Urban

There are 3 different core objectives on the Warzone Firefight map Urban. One is in round 4 where you must defend 2 cores outside the home base. The other 2 are in round 3. One of them is on a ridge near the armory, however the one I’m referring to in the article title is in an open street next to the home base. The problem is that there are way too many enemies that spawn in along with turret soldiers and knights that will melt the core in seconds. Even heavy vehicles like wraiths and tanks will get destroyed instantly with how many enemies will agro on you instantly. I have never completed this objective on Mythic Firefight and I’m convinced it’s impossible. What’s worse is that since its in round 3 you’ll likely not be at high enough of a req level by time you get to this round to spawn heavy vehicles or banshee’s meaning you’d have to rely on random vehicles to get what you need to complete the round. Even then you’d need all 8 players in your fireteam in said vehicles to even stand a chance against the prometheans. Most core objectives are difficult but this is without a shadow of a doubt the hardest one and not in a good way. Is there anyone at 343 that could possibly look into either nerfing or removing this objective?

It’s one of the more difficult ones but it’s absolutely doable - however it just requires players adopting targetting priority. When I’ve managed it it’s always been big teams and after defend objectives in previous rounds to req up faster.

If you’re talking about Mythic FF, then your best bet is to let the timer count down in the first round as much as possible until you’ve farmed all of the enemies with your teammates so you’re fully prepared and equipped to handle the next wave. Splattering enemies is the easiest and safest method in WZFF.

That would explain a couple of teammates I’ve had who’ve specifically been blocking access to bosses early… it’s risky though as I’ve also seen plenty of round 1 timeouts

There’s definitely a risk involved, but it pays off for the rest of the game if you’re able to be on level 3 - 4 reqs at the start of round 2. From there you’ll get to almost max by the end of round two start of round 3. Just be prepared to splatter or have weakened the boss at least before the timer runs down.

Absolutely. I generally find I hit level 3 after round 1 unless I’m constantly being downedb by weight of fire before I can get to good cover

That’s probably not your fault honestly, unless you’re travelling with a stacked team then chances are it may be a few individuals who don’t know what’s happening that’s letting you down. I like to try and invite them to the party where I can and coach them through the game with some positive reinforcement otherwise they quit out and it becomes SOOOO much harder.

Yeah when I have my mic to hand I often do the same.

Always shocks me with WZFF how many people don’t understand the value of crowd control. If you end up with 20 Elites concentrated around a Hunter Pair then you’re really in trouble

Yeah absolutely, a lot of people try to use vehicles instead of specific weapons to defeat enemies in Mythic. Vehicles can be an absolute death trap if enemies are in cover or have stupid amounts of numbers on their side.

Aye. I’ll sometimes use a ghost for a suicide run through a horde of elites/soldiers, or use a scorpion as a sniping platform against massed infantry, but plenty of req 3/4/5 levels are better served by power weapons

I have repeatedly learned this lesson the hard way. The strength in numbers factor is felt much quicker on Mythic FF and probably the most central part of the challenge.

Splattering enemies is the easiest and safest method in WZFF.

From there you’ll get to almost max by the end of round two start of round 3. Just be prepared to splatter or have weakened the boss at least before the timer runs down.

I like to try and invite them to the party where I can and coach them through the game with some positive reinforcement otherwise they quit out and it becomes SOOOO much harder.

I feel like you need Carter’s little speech from the beginning of Reach each time you lad into Mythic FF lol. “I’ve seen your record, but that lone wolf stuff stays behind” (it’s a shortened version but you get the point!)

If you don’t coordinate well or have people who know what they’re doing then it’s a 2 or 3 round defeat every time!
