I want to start off by saying thank you for the invite to the Technical Preview of Halo Infinite. As I played the game I noticed some things that other might agree on, while these are not game breaking fixes I think they will be appreciated nonetheless.
- My first opinion is to add height indicators for the radar like they did in Halo Reach. The amount of times I’ve been confused about my enemies height above or below is frustrating. The little arrow indicating altitude is nice, please bring that back. - My second opinion is to add a voice overlay directly into the game. It’s hard to see who is talking when I constantly have to look at the roster. A pop in microphone icon in one of the corners would be nice. - My third opinion is more of weapon balance in the sandbox itself. While most weapons play their own role, which I appreciate, some are outliers. The Bulldog seems slightly weak. Sure the rapid fire makes it so you can’t beef up the damage to excessive levels, but the glory of a CQC, especially in Halo is the one shot kill while in point blank range. I would be in favor of a slower fire rate for more damage. - Aerial vehicles are very squishy, I was able to take out a banshee is just three shots from the S7 Sniper, not sure if the intention here balance but being that squishy, along with boarding allowed from the grapplehook seems like there is too many vulnerabilities. The overcharge EMP from the plasma shot has been removed but put onto other weapons such as the shock rifle and shock grenades. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy this aspect since it’s all around balance but I would like to see the aerial vehicles have some slightly more health. - My final opinion, while being more controversial, is still something I think should at least be considered. Please add a progression system into the game. The charm of old halo games was seeing those crazy high ranks for its most dedicated players. The battle pass is an excellent addition, and I’d like for all armor and customizations to come from that. But being locked behind challenges exclusively can be either in the players favor or not in the players favor depending on the challenge. It’s not an equal playing field. There should be some EXP given on a per match basis. But back to my point. Progression is huge for players. I want to feel like I accomplish something, or work towards something. Once again I want to thank the folks at 343i for providing me a code to enjoy Halo once again. I really love the direction the games art style and overall the tone of the game. I look forward to the release of the game.
