IMPORTANT! The Arbiter in Halo 4???

First off I’m a little behind in books and what not, so I don’t know what happened to the Arbiter after Halo 3. Or even if that had been explored. But with the covenant now abandoning the treaty in Halo 4. What do you guy’s think would happen if the chief ran into the arbiter in Halo 4. Wouldn’t that be interesting? I hope 343 does make this encounter happen at some point in the new Halo trilogy. And have a huge cutscene about it too.

what?
i don’t remember any elite breaking the treaty

with that, only elites came with a “treaty” with the humans, not any other covenant

inb4glasslands

Yeah, but when 343 released pictures of the covenant as a confirmed enemy they included the elite so I assumed they elites rejoined the covenant. I knew it was the elites and not entire covenant that had the treaty.

I doubt the elites would rejoin the covenant, read glasslands you’ll see why I doubt it happening, as for the elites and jackals on the FUD, I’m thinking pirates, or possibly a group that was cut off from all communication or something to that effect. Possibly a salvaging group. Who knows, also there’s a verbal cease fire between humans and sanghelios. Nothing official

Okay, cool. I’m still excited for a reunion of the Arbiter and the Chief.

The Covenant as many knew it is gone. The Prophets are in hiding, the Jiralhanae are doomed to extinction, and many races have gone seperate ways based off of our current understanding.

What we see in Halo 4 are a faction that apparently have connections, or are, a group known as the Servants of Abiding Truth.

It is a Sangheili pre-Covenant faction that did Forerunner worship, and still do despite ‘modern views’ of the Forerunner as simply being a mortal, advanced race that supposedly died out. They are not happy with most other Sangheili due to this.

In Glasslands, they made a deal with ONI to stock them with weapons so they could fight against the ‘infidels’, including the Arbiter. He is not dead at this time in the canon.

He has been going around Sangheilios as a political leader, and wishes to make peace between his species and Humans, rather than a simple truce.

It has been confirmed the Arbiter will be returning in the Reclaimer Trilogy, but we do not know if he will be in Halo 4 specifically.

I could see this happening in H5, as of glasslands which actually coincides with the ending of H3, the arbiter is rather busy with the tensions on his home world, but then again who knows what can happen in 4 years. But just to clarify, the elites came to realize how wrong they were in following the profits, while the elites seem to be headed towards a civil war, none of them want to go back to the covenant. They just can’t agree on wether to wipe us out now or later.

I’m going to have to read Glasslands it sounds really interesting. I haven’t gotten around to reading any of the recent Halo novels which is dissappointing.

I read glasslands, cryptum and Primordium all in a weekend each, they’re all good, glasslands is a great read, awesome tempo to it, plus it factors in what happend after ghosts of onyx. But yeah read em man, they clear up ALOT of stuff

Just like humans, not all Elites want or believe in the same things. Some still want to kill the humans. Some want to kill Arbiter because he sided with the humans. Some still believe that the Forerunners are gods and that the Prophets just lead them away from the true path.

I don’t think we’ll see Arbiter in Halo 4, and I don’t think we should either. Halo 4 should focus on the Chief and Cortana. I’d love to see Arbiter in Halo 5 or 6 though. I’m pretty sure Arby and Chief would still be friends after all they’ve been through.

Either this song or this song should play when you meet him again. It’d be awesome.

i recall early on that they announced the arbiter would be in halo 4 playing more of a diplomat role, but that he would make a confirmed appearance in at least 1 cutscene.

I enjoyed the story of the Master Chief and Cortana in Halo 3. And am going to enjoy the expansion of that relationship in Halo 4. But thinking about the Arbiter makes me excited about that reunion as well. I wouldn’t mind if that shared the spotlight with chief’s relationship with Cortana (Which is already the major story being told in Halo 4 as already stated by 343.) I don’t know I guess I could wait till 5 or 6. But I don’t know why the Arbiter wouldn’t make it to the Shield World in Halo 4. Sure there is conflict with his people. But it is a pretty important discovery perhaps as important of that of the discovery of the Halo rings. The shield world seems like its going to be a pretty happeniing place.

Guys, the Covenant isn’t a confirmed enemy. We only know there are some rogue groups. Anti-human Sangheili teaming up with other ex-covenant races.

Sweet! I hope so. And then he can make a larger appearance in the next games.

Yeah, I didn’t realize that at first but I know now.

Yes, a Rogue Covenant. It’s just easier to call it “Covenant”.

And more natural since we have been saying that for about 10 years.

I wouldn’t give the Elites much thought. All they are going to serve as is a way to transfer everyone from the Halo we know to 343’s Halo. They are a minor threat. Asa whole though, I hate what 343 is doing with the Elites. They used to be the only race in the Covenant barring the Engineers who had a semblance of morality about what the Covenant was doing to the humans, that is why Truth tried to take them out.

It’s not the case anymore.
