Important Halo news!!!

Now halo escalation 8 has been released, and boy, blue team is back in ACTION!!!
Here’s a Link to a video that tells what happens in this issue. It’s made by halo follower, but this one is acutely good.
If you want wait for halo cannon to release his own video, he is much better than HF.

RECAP: (SPOILERS)

Master chief gets interview by heads of UNSC and ONI.
Hood sends him on a mission to Gamma halo (halo that was in halo 4) with blue team to find out what happened to black team.
Black team found dead, killed by Prometheans. Arrive at excavation site of the composer. They find a portal that goes to requiem, or it could be another world.
Didact is alive.

I’m sorry that I can’t take this thread seriously now since you linked Halofollower video I rather just read it for myself when i get it next week.

Suggest you get your information somewhere else besides him just so you could prevent future confusion on information he gives out.

Uhhh… You mean Requiem? I’m pretty much about 150% sure it was destroyed in Spartan Ops.

OP - I put spoiler tags around the recap, there are those who have not read the issue themselves yet and don’t want any surprises spoiled. Thankfully I have!

Well I did state that this time he acutely did his info right, besides he is the only person to post what had happened.
I would suggest watching Halo cannon, he is very good at reviewing the comics.

Well, the issue takes place before Spartan Ops…

I wasn’t Requiem; it was a different world.

Perhaps even Far Nomdagro.

Escalation #8 takes place in the three days following the Halo 4 campaign. Spartan Ops takes place six months after the Halo 4 campaign.

Let’s keep the spoilers in spoiler tags, please.

Damn.

Thanks for the info.

He made an older video with images hinting to their return. The Spartnas looked almost exactly like Blue team. Haven’t watched vid, but so he was right in their return, despite the credibility that is given to him. Anyways, I hope this doesn’t turn into a HF thread. Let’s focus on the content this time around…“Halo”

Well, let’s face it, we all knew what was coming as far as the Didact and Blue Team went…

Wait… How does mentioning Spartan Ops count as a spoiler?

Just saying, they are probably going to die just like Black Team.

> Just saying, they are probably going to die just like Black Team.

Yeah, that’s what I was going to say.

Something tells me they’re making the Chief the actually last Spartan II alive at this point, seeing as Black Team was taken out in one single sentance.

I was also under the impression that Team Black was a team no one knew about, apart from the really high up heads.

Speculation: Blue team finds the Librarian who says that Cortana is stored somewhere else. That’s why chief goes AWOL.

The Didact rips apart Blue team, apart from the Chief, who’s elsewhere.

Something like that?

How cheap to just kill of all the S’II… off-screen makes it even worse…

This is annoying to me. This is exactly the kind of cross-media interdependence that nearly ruined Halo 4’s story for many people. We shouldn’t have to buy and read a series of comic books to find out what happens between Halo 4 and H5 Guardians; important story elements like this belong in the Halo games, not side media. What’s going to happen now is that players will start Halo 5 and be dropped right into the middle of Chief’s story only to find the Didact still alive, other S-IIs killed before they can even be introduced in-game as characters, and they’re stranded alone on some unknown world without a clue as to what’s going on.Yeah, way to handle the storyline, 343. Johnson’s survival from CE to 2 was nothing compared to this.

I think The Didact will kill blue team, clearly the crack in chiefs visor was caused by The Didact, we even see The Didact punching Chief in the face in one of the upcoming comics, I think Chief will see his last ever friends/family (blue team) killed in front of him by The Didact and that will probably cause Chief to go completely insane and just go rouge.

So… The Chief will start wearing makeup?

> Seriously, though, this will be an interesting story development. I just wish 343 had picked a better medium to tell it.

Like how Chief got back to Earth for Halo 2 was explained in First Strike?

Using expanded media is perfectly fine, great… but they have to properly explain it. That’s where Halo 4 messed up. Too much outside information was let in without in-game explanation. The Covenant, parts of the Didact (mainly due to the terminals not being on disc). If there is a detailed cutscene or something explaining what happened, it will be fine.

343i shouldn’t have to abandon the rich stories the expanded media offers, but they also shouldn’t abandon the fans that don’t look into that.
