IMPORTANT and TIME SENSITIVE: Add Credits to the Season 1 Pass

So with the news that the winter update will come with a free mid season pass that includes all of the missing reach armors like MkV, there’s a little detail that’s going unnoticed by a lot of players (and the devs themselves). The core that those armors fit on? yeah, not free, even though might have already bought it We can’t just assume everyone did. I have an idea to fix this, however.

I understand the game is free to play, and as angry as people are (and rightfully so), The answer is definitely not to just make the mkVB core free imo. Season 2 started a thing where the paid track of the pass includes enough credits to refund the purchase of the pass. A common practice in free to play games with battlepasses (although even fortnite does it better by giving you some extra on top of it all but that’s beside the point I want to make). Season 1’s pass underwent no changes to reflect this design decision with the battlepass, despite being LOADED with fluff and garbage, even in the paid track.

The Solution:
Add a total of 1000 credits interspersed throughout the season 1 pass replacing some of the garbage challenge swaps, xp boosts, etc…There’s two groups of people this is mainly helpful for.

  • People who already completed it but never bought it will now be able to, essentially, grab mkvb for free using the 1000 cr from the season 2 pass
  • and People who have come in late or gave up early and haven’t completed the season 1 pass will now have greater incentive to do so.
There’s, of course, the third group, which is People who already bought and completed the S1 Pass. To make it so they don’t get left feeling scammed, just reward them retroactively with the 1000 credits, and as a good faith gesture, let them keep all the xp boosts and other garbage fluff items the paid track might have given them (they’ve most likely already used them anyways) The change will be seen as a nice little “sorry the game isn’t where we want it to be yet” gesture that they can save to get the season 3 pass, or use to get a shiny new armor set on the house

All in all, there’s a LOT that halo infinite needs work on, especially in its credits gains and monetization, but this, I think, is a time sensitive change that needs to happen before the free pass with missing MKVB armor pieces becomes available as a bandaid for the problems inherent in the winter update that is intended to keep players satisfied during the long wait for more significant catching up-dates coming in season 3
