Importance of unique armor

343 has honestly messed up bad with that part of Halo. By adding in hundreds of ugly armor sets, none of them are rewarding but on the contrary, frustrating to open in REQ packs. I don’t know how the genius of the armor designer for Halo Reach did it, but I never imagined myself looking forward to buying armor. I truly feel like it’s what kept players coming back into the game and why it could peak at 140k players even 2 years after its launch; something Halo 4 and 5 will never be able to come close to.

tldr; bring back rugged, badass armor sets. DO NOT OVERSATURATE. Make each piece unique and desirable to attain.

I do wish the armor sets actually looked like soldier armor. Most of the armor sets in 4 and 5 are not believable at all. Why would a soldier have a unicorn horn on top of their armor?

They should’ve stopped around 100 and not so many variants of the same armor

Good point. This is even more obvious with the newer armor sets presented in the updates. There is something really off about them

Too many armors, too many helmets, too many skins, all I want is more warzone maps. Aesthetics will not keep me playing, but new maps will.

Will have to say that Reach’s armor was the best. Looked as real as a futuristic sci-fi shooter could do IMO. Halo 4…ick. With Halo 5 I have found that the Soldier variants are OK, and with the “new” colors coming, I can finally do my green & brown combos that kinda look like camo as opposed to Easter decorations.

I would rather have more armor sets than to few and you get content for FREE which is epic than PAYING for dance moves on destiny!

I totally agree with this. If you think about it, adding more unnecessary armor, helmet and skins req.s waters down the possibility of getting some of the first req.s that came out.

Maybe to help headbutts?

I agree… So much stupid armor and helmets that its more of annoyance to earn it in req packs…

Honestly even this new Achilles people are grinding for is lame. I wouldnt notice if someone had it on.

lol

The armor I want most is the mark iv. The halo wars armor

I really don’t care about the armor at all, there’s too much and it all just blends to me.

I feel like I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t care what armor looks like or what others are wearing. Most I’ll maybe notice sometimes is the helmets but beyond that? I don’t care in the slightest.

Well its there, its a Legendary

I hated the armor design since 343 took over. The different armor sets don’t look practical, they look like different shapes of metal.
And it went from a super soldier in power armor, to storm trooper in nano-armor. I feel more like a power ranger than I do a soldier.
And I would happily have 5 different armor pieces, or a few armor variants with add-ons, than 100 reskins.

Just because you don’t like some of the armor sets doesn’t mean they are inherently ugly, I like some armor that some think looks dumb, but I like it. I also love the fact they made it so there are multiple versions of each armor set, to let people tell them apart. If you ask me, more is better.
