Import previous maps to new halo games?

I had a moment of Halo 3 nostalgia the past week and played that Multiplayer again and have to say I quite enjoyed the change from Reach, simply because it was refreshing. The only problem was that Halo 3 gets very little traffic now, so finding a game can be difficult, game connection to other players can be poor simply because nobody else is available etc.

After playing a bit, I remembered that Heretic was in fact brought over from Halo 2. It doesn’t seem like it is actually too difficult to port a map over to a new game. Could we get some Halo 3 maps ported over?

I realize a couple things:

  1. There are a lot of fan-made maps that are recreations of old halo maps. Personally, I don’t like them. Some of them have great inaccuracies (One ver popular recreation of “Narrows” has a bad grav lift) while, due to the bland nature of Forge’s color scheme, enclosed maps (E.G. Foundry) look like a grey mess.
  2. The Halo 3 servers don’t get a lot of traffic. I feel that this simply occured because Reach came out, and thus became the new baseline for halo and phased the others out. By merging Halo 3 experience with Reach numbers would greatly increase.

In the very least, could we at least get an update to reach that:
A: Implements the weather changes to forge that were cut from the game? This would be for recreations of maps like “Avalanche”.
and/or B: Make it so we can change the color of forge structure much more in order to make extreme forging not just dull grey masses. Changing the team color hardly does much, as a lot of the color changes are dull. Adding the “Juicy” filter definitely helps to increase the contrast problem, but I’d like a little more.

Ever play ultimate mortal kombat?

I would support every version of every map, every version of every weapon, every Spartan model with specific jump heights and abilities all in one game.

Can’t say that I have.

It would definitely be great to have one halo game that merged every single experience for multiplayer. Considering how they were able to do TU changes pretty easily changing physics and such to fit an older/newer style of play should be relatively easy. Dual weilding could be turned on/off for different modes, jump height and gravity could be asily changed to fit previous games…
