Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed.
Couldn’t help but notice that in recent footage, we get a chance to see a Halo 4 title screen. Link Go to around 0:54.
It appears to be a shot of Earth, but with a chunk broken off…and with what appears to be a Halo Ring floating next to it. This may just be a simple screen developed for this particular build of the game, but either way it has some interesting implications for the story.
So, what do you think?
There’s a halo around it, definitely not earth. Probably requiem.
From the angle, I thought that it was a shot of Earth. I’m likely wrong, but the fact that there is a Halo ring was interesting to me. Seems a bit odd to put a shield world directly next to a firing array, no?
Could be a special type of Halo ring put there. Maybe Requiem has the ancient evil inside of it and if it escapes, the Halo can be activated to contain it? Would explain why the Promethean Knights are machines and not flesh and blood Forerunners.
I like the Requim idea but if it gets destroyed at the end of Halo 4 then how is spartan ops suppose to take place. Spartan ops tkae place 6 months after Halo 4 so that would be a contradicton of events.
I believe its Earth. Other the the gateway to the ark Earth hasnt relly been that important to the universe.
I mean Reach got glassed and look at how important it was.

I thought that it was Earth at first glance, from the angle it looked like Saudi Arabia in the center. I can see the argument for Requiem as well…but either way, the fact that a Halo ring is parked right next to it seems pretty interesting

Reach didn’t have a huge chunk of it’s crust and mantle blown into space. Besides, the landmass on that planet don’t really match up to Earth.

Maybe some halo rings can move…“Maybe”…
There’s a hole in that planet, like something blew up on the inside. It could be Requiem. Can’t be Earth, Earth isn’t hollow.
It’s probably not Earth or Requiem. My guess is a different planet entirely, perhaps one that is of great importance to the Ancient Evil.
> There’s a hole in that planet, like something blew up on the inside. It could be Requiem. Can’t be Earth, Earth isn’t hollow.
Just playing Devil’s Advocate here…but would Earth exploding justify sending the most massive human ship ever built out into the Galaxy to explore?
It could be Shield 0459. But not to sure how it would tie in with halo 4.

That shield world was completely obliterated.

If a Halo ring moved, that would imply re-distribution of the Halo rings, which now would be impossible without forerunner involvement.

Primordium shows they can move on their own.

All Halos can move.

They have propulsion systems and sliplspace drives. Installation Monitors may have the ability to control these functions.
> They have propulsion systems and sliplspace drives.
Not sure about slipspace drives, the Ark’s portal is what moved them around. Otherwise, that would’ve rendered a huge plot point of Primordium null and void.

I read primordium. I thought when they were at the capitol battle the Halo’s made their own portal back to the Ark.
