Impatient Fools

I see threads regarding people going to trade their copy of Halo 4 out…
I automatically think you are a bunch of impatient brats. The game has barely been out 2 weeks, have patience for God’s sake.

Halo 4 isn’t the first game to have issues within the first few weeks and months of release, nor will it be the last. Some games like CoD will experience less problems because they never change the engine and make very subtle changes to game-play.

Halo:CE
Halo:2
Halo:3
Halo:4

Tell me, which of these games had 0 issues when they were first released? I’m fairly confident the answer you are looking for is none. Maybe Halo 4 has more issues than any Halo game to date, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed.
Yes 343i aren’t communicating with their community as well as they should be, but have you ever thought that they are actually working on a fix rather than sitting on the forums reading every post? Yes, they could have Mods, but you’d get the same generic answers you get from any mod. They know next to nothing.

Have patience, Spartans.

I wasn’t one of them. I’m still playing Halo 4.

No game can defy my will!!!

Despite this game’s many faults. I love it, Spartan Ops alone has made it my favourite Halo so far. People like this who moan about everything have ruined many a game for me; Battlefield 3, Halo : reach and Brink were all destroyed by their ungrateful community.

my answer is don’t worry the’ll fix the issues with the sysetm. I remember people whining about the glitchs in Halo 3 like armor dissappearing, and evan the one where people whine dabout the not so perfect melee system. before it got tweaked.

Im glad someone made some sense around here.

I agree with you op. I can’t believe people think they wasted 60. Just wait for patches. No such thing as a perfect game.

A brat? Get off your high horse.

All of those games mentioned, except Halo 4, launched extremely playable. The only issues any really had were those that had to do with a server overload. And those were quickly remedied.

I would really like to know where you come from saying that I am inpatient brat for wanting what I bought, with my money that I earned, to not be a lackluster beta.

Halo 4 is the only game that I have ever purchased that is borderline unplayable at launch.

Perhaps when you mature you will value your money a little bit more.

You people are as mouth-breathingly monster-swillingly short-sighted as the people you are mocking. The thing people are actually upset about is that for the first time, a Halo game was released UNFINISHED and UN-BETA’D. Sure, H3 and all the rest had SERVER ISSUES but NONE OF THEM shipped without full 8v8 gameplay support (Objective is missing), no 2-man or 3-man squad support and limited Matchmaking access to on-disc maps (There are 3 available in custom that cannot be played in Matchmaking… yet).

I do not disagree with your sentiments against complainers, but for crying out loud, breathe and just use your brains a bit.

That and watch the fing Social Skirmish Roast to see what Veterans actually think, because even the s I don’t care about (Forge, f***ing MLG ANYTHING) is covered pretty thoroughly in here.

Let us never again pretend that the real issues with Halo 4 launch weren’t made brutally, publicly clear several days ago.

Adieu, Monsieurs

I agree. Come December/January, this game will be in a much better state. Right now they’re just collecting data or taking a break for Thanksgiving.

People are turning in their games because there is no response from 343 and they doubt there will be a response. Let them do what they want, but 343 should release some kind of information that they are noticing the threads. It’s their first game, so why wouldn’t they want to do the best they can and reply to their first consumers? They aren’t doing it. People don’t like that, so they turn their games in.

Really? In what ways is this game unplayable. I didn’t play the first couple of days because of school, and I’m sure server issues were abundant like any launch, but right now I literally have next to no issues. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were hardly playable online at launch. How quickly people forget about H2’s awful weapon balance and weak melees at launch. (Coming from someone who still holds Halo 2 as his favorite game of all time.) Halo 3 launched with literally the most awful melee system in existence. It was deplorable and made the game practically unplayable in regards to close combat since you would die to a person a full second after you already should have killed them half the time. H4 has minimal problems. I hate the boltshot, but it’s avoidable. The only issue I have is the randomness ordinances add on occasion.

I will give you a few things that make this game unbearable to me.

Firstly the lag. I have an astounding connection. Never experience lag any any other console or PC games I play except Halo 4. Not even Reach. I get this lag in 4v4 games. Most of the time BTB is nearly unplayable thanks to this.

Ridiculous aim assist. Never fails. Every game I am always dragged off someone I am shooting from someone running in front. This happened in previous Halos, but nowhere to the degree of this game.

Insane aim magnetism. Essentially inflating hitboxes to the sixe of a truck. You can literally aim five feet to either side of a player’s head and still score a head-shot with the sniper.

Paper vehicles, what Reach mad famous are back. And even more flimsy thanks to the ability to spawn with plasma grenades and plasma pistols by default.

The fact that custom game options pretty much don’t exist anymore. Internet connection is required for everything from unlocking armor, to leveling up, and playing Spartan Ops.

Poorly testing maps allowing you to utilize an exploit that makes you 100% invulnerable.

Poor net-code in gametypes featuring AI resulting in tremendous lag. Seriously why can every game that exists get this right except Halo?

Return of the voting system effectively destroying any form of variety in maps played.

Removal of a portion of the vehicle sandbox. When 343i mentioned the addition of forerunner weaponry they failed to include that the vehicle sandbox was going to be sub Halo 2 in variety.

I can go on all day.

Your text alone shows your immaturity, egotistical and obnoxious behavior. Hurts the eyes. But obviously you don’t care.

Most of us bought the game with our hard earned cash. Some harder than others. You saying that this game is “unplayable” is sorely your own opinion. Hundreds, if not thousands, of us think otherwise. Despite my losses, my friends and I are having a blast.

If 343i will make changes, and they will, it’ll come in time. If you find it so unplayable, go play something else. God forbid you do something productive for society.

Halo 3 had one or two things changed throughout its 3 year course. It was practically golden from day one. In fact I never understood the melee update and that was the only thing I can even remember. I never had a single valid gripe with the game.

My text merely shows what 343i finds acceptable for this forums. Don’t you find it kind of backward what you said? I work for every penny for everything I own. Yet you dare chastise me for doing nothing productive? Irony at its finest.

Halo 2 when launched had insane lag, the standby cheat, the ghosting glitch, somewhat unbalanced weapons, buggy connections, some odd hit detection issues, then there was the rampant modding. All of that made the game nearly unplayable for WEEKS.

So don’t pretend Halo 4 is the only Halo game that launched with problems.

By the way, your red text, very hard on the eyes. I had to highlight your posts just to I can read them.

tl;dr, especially the big eye-hurty wall of red text.

But I’ll say this: anybody who wants to censor my right to question whether my £40/$60 has been well-spent (actually it was more than that, I bought the season pass too) can go whistle. Halo 4 wasn’t a free gift. If we point out things that could easily be better and should be fixed (like; right now) we’re not being whiny or ungrateful, we’re being discerning customers.

A couple of proverbs that used to be taken seriously, once upon a time:

He who pays the fiddler calls the tune.

The customer is always right.

Nowadays it’d be more accurate to say that he who pays the fiddler should be grateful to get music at all, and the customer is right as and when we can be bothered to acknowledge their existence.

Look, I’m only responding this one time, so don’t get used to feeding you, 'kay?

You make it sound like you’re the only one working hard for the money there, buddy. Also worrying over a video game is not even in my priorities. Even my hobby is far above everything else. If I’m having fun with my friends, that’s all that matters. Hell, I’m having more fun than I did with Reach. Hated the spawn system among other things.

Sheesh, I’m remembering why I hated coming to the forums when Reach launched. So many of… you.

Unplayable? I’ve switched to a wired connection and let me tell you, it is DEFINITELY playable. The best? Probably not. It’s only unplayable if you have a wireless connection, the lag is unbearable and you lose every gun/fist fight.

Sure it’s less competitive but it reminds me of Super Smash Bros. Random and explosive, the way I like it. But you can’t turn off ordnance like you can turn off items in SSBB…

I agree though there really aren’t enough vehicles. I liked the older Shade design better. I miss having something to fly other than the Banshee. The mammoth is… overcompensating, to be sure. It barely does anything :o I miss the space combat from Reach. And as far as I’ve seen there’s only ONE Scorpian in the whole BTB playlist… and it’s in a bad position. I haven’t gotten to ride it yet but I’ve blown some of them up the moment they start moving. For the lulz. Exile is just a bad map for it. The mantis was a nice addition, very well balanced.
