Does anyone know when and if these maps will make an appearance in matchmaking? I like that the DLC maps are mixing things up a bit, but I’d still like some more map variety.
Who knows? 343 just likes to do what they please; they have yet to bring grifball into matchmaking. Seriously, why can’t they make EXTRACTION a dedicated playlist? WE HAVE IT IN CUSTOM GAMES, WHY DO YOU NEED TO MAKE IT DLC ONLY?!?!? This is why I have stopped playing halo 4; 343 is incompetent and can’t work on keeping the community happy, instead they are already working on HALO 5! Take a hint from Bungie already, they CARED about the community that they worked so hard to build, and you guys are ripping it apart!
Another thing, why make us install A WHOLE SECOND disk when you only have part of the content in matchmaking and are forcing us to pay 10 dollars for a game type that is ALREADY INSTALLED so you can pass it off as a new game type? I refuse to put any more money in your pockets for something I already have. And Bungie added maps made in forge to matchmaking to make things more varied; and you guys are going to make us pay for that too, right?

I don’t have an answer for you, but I agree with the crimson map pack mixing things up. Its cool to not only have a choice of map but a gametype as well, its actually become one of my preferred playlists at the moment.

Impact, Ravine, and Erosion are Forge maps. They’re not playable in their original state; someone would have to build a level on one of those maps and populate it with weapons and objectives and such before you could play a game on it. They’ll eventually add Forged maps into MM; you’ll see them then.
I don’t understand why they haven’t added Relay to matchmaking yet, it looks like such a great map that will have a lot of action.
We made 3 nice, original maps and we have yet to add them to any playlist. It’s how I think they feel.
I agree. These maps need to be permenant installments into MM already. The only reasoning I can see behind this is that halo reach shipped with a lot of forge maps in matchmaking and most were remakes. Granted they were good maps and I enjoyed them, a big portion of the community complained about this and called bungie lazy. I think 343 didnt have the maps in at launch to avoid the problem bungie had. And being that crimson came out a month after launch, 343 doesnt want to give us map overload. Also, a lot of people will be getting halo 4 for christmas along with some other popular games out right now. My guess is that 343 will release the three forge maps a week or so after christmas/new years to keep players on halo 4 or bring others back.
i dont understand they should bring back some old maps! its not a dumb idea but this will keep most ppl playing your game!! 343 get the hell back from your vacation and add more too this -Yoink-. ivory tower, lockout, midship, ascension, zanzsibar. and add halo 3 maps!!! and dont rename them its so annoying. and instead of making fukin map pack DLC make an expansion to campaign… this game is great and still desevres a 9. w/e but u dont want the value going down. U made the didact die so quick! like wtf have an expansion too campaign as well ,and continues the sotry on him! and bring back the Brutes and Flood. god stop being so -Yoink!- with your little rules

I love the old halo maps as much as the next guy but they can’t keep recycling them. I’d rather play new maps than the maps I’ve been been playing for years.
OT: One of the problems I see as far as forge maps go is that they take a long time to load due dynamic lighting. While possible I think it’s more that they want to avoid having too many maps in the game. Keep in mind that it’s been less than 2 months since the game’s been released.

to many maps? you mean like all 3 of them? (exile ragnarok and haven)
